Sit-ups

Going by this standard, http://www.in.gov/ilea/fitness/fitsitups.html</a>, how many can you do in a minute?

Who the hell goes by that? It is far too hot to try now, I can do a lot of sit ups, I don’t time myself though.

I do 30 and I’m fat so its really easy

lololol “touch elbows to knees”
they better not mean their sit-ups are like crunches…otherwise 29 in a minute is pretty bad.

we had to do them for gym a couple of months ago
I know I did something b/w 45-60 (that was one of the cutoffs) but I don’t know exactly how many
and we did situps, not crunches, our gym teacher made sure we did them right.

I don’t know about a minute since we usually do them in 2 minutes and I usually do around 100.

I had to do that in my Adv. Weight Training class and I did about 60 - 70 in a minute.

I did 58 for my gym class.

Did anyone actually try this just so they could post here?

Fess up!

Edit: Awesome, my 30th post so I’m a junior member :D

I remember doing 70 in 6th grade
that was either the highest or second highest in the school (for my grade)

i did 105 by that standard in one minute

hehehe…nerds bragging about how many situps they can do in a minute :)

Lol, who’s bragging? It might seem like bragging to you if you’re athletically ■■■■■■■■.

I didn’t do it by the standard though. Elbows to knees seems more like crunches.

128!

oh wait…that’s my video card memory, or is it the dosage of my acne cream

damn I can’t remember, good thing I wrote it down on my palm pilot

Sit-ups are so ineffective compared to many other ab exercises…

That test is really bad because it emphasizes pure numbers instead of good form. Good situps should be nice and slow, the opposite of what they’re making you do there.

Agreed^

The slower you go, the better it is for you. It burns more, but that is how you know you’re doing it correctly.

I did 1,437 in one minute… is that good?

Seriously, though, I don’t ever do sit-ups… I only run and do push-ups. Sit-ups are for weenies =) (just kidding. Really, I don’t have the attention span required to actually do sit-ups… which is pretty sad).

Sit ups are good for running, as it makes your core muscles stronger.

^^^agreed…
