SNL 50 year anniversary show…tonight!

You could strean on Peacock.

I felt the same. We got a year of Peacock for $23. Liked the new Bridget Jones movie and the QuestLove documentary on SNL music is excellent.

Peacock also carries lots of English Premier league soccer, if any futbol fans need another reason to get Peacock.

Uh-oh. My husband recorded it because we are out of the country, but I don’t know if he thought about extending the recording. Hopefully someone will have snippets of the later part if it ran long.

It definitely ran long. Paul McCartney was toward the very end. He was great

You can find lots of the clips (including Paul McCartney and Paul Simon) on youtube

Thanks. Can’t get video on the ship. But appreciate links and will check later.

Hate to be the naysayer but I didn’t care for this. It was fine, not great.

I really didn’t like Tom Hanks in black jeopardy. Thought it was unnecessary.

Kristin Wigg playing drums on Kim K, not funny.

I gotta say, particularly airing in prime time, there were a few double entendres that were subtle as a sledgehammer and would make me feel uncomfortable if I were watching with parents/kids.

I remember remarking on that to H sometime during the 8:00 hour.

I watched (and skipped) a number of clips available online. Some I didn’t watch because I didn’t like the original skits so presumed I wouldn’t like the update.

I did enjoy:

-Steve Martin’s opening monologue

-Tina and Amy’s audience Q&A

-Weekend Update (I ff’d Drunk Uncle)

-Close Encounters - there’s a skit that would be uncomfortable to watch with kids! But I could not stop laughing when Meryl Streep joined in.

-Adam Sandler’s 50 Years tribute song

Did anyone watch the concert on Peacock? It aired on Friday, but we’re just watching it today. Definitely not safe for kids, but it’s pretty awesome. Post Nirvana (Nirvana with Post Malone singing) … they did Smells Like Teen Spirit… unbelievable! I was blown away. And Jack White doing Keep on Rockin’ in the Free World … so good!! (Can you tell that I like driving rock?)

I’ve heard that concert was fabulous. I might get Peacock just to see that!

Didn’t see the show. Did they do a memorial or anything for those cast members who have passed? One of my all time favorite skits was the dance number featuring Steve Martin and Gilda Radner. Also, I loved pretty much every skit where Gilda played the school girl who indulged her imagination in her bedroom until her unseen mother would yell from downstairs to stop it. So so funny was that woman.

I actually really liked Miley Cyrus and normally I’m not a big fan of hers. It was the Prince version of Nothing Compares 2 U, which I think is way better than the Sinead O Connor one. Prince wrote the song.

I watched it yesterday. It was great. Loved the Lonely Island medley. Pedro Pascal looked like he was having the best night of his life

They used the dance number with Steve and Gilda. It was great to see that again! You can probably find a clip somewhere.

I would have liked to see an “in memorium” section. Tom Hanks teased one, but then it morphed into a series of skits that hadn’t aged well. A few people made references to some of the deceased cast members and Laraine Newman and Jane Curtis held up Gilda Radner’s photo at the end. I thought the old skit they showed with John Belushi in the cemetery talking about being the last survivor of the original cast was in poor taste.

I found it ironic that they included this segment in the same show that had a 2025 skit on Black Jeopardy!

They actually showed that!
