I just checked to see…the flight I was supposed to take from Hartford to Baltimore was cancelled. Unbelievable. It was listed as delayed…the delayed some more. At one point, they were boarding. Yikes. Guess I’m glad I cancelled today and am going tomorrow!
I’m south of BWI and have 3 inches.
We are in Howard County MD, about 20 minutes from BWI and have at least 5 inches.
I never fly into LGA, and I REALLY don’t fly there in the winter. JFK is the way to go. Super long runways, well maintained, last airport to close.
Huge mess in Memphis. My husbands flight was cancelled, and he got to go to Tampa instead. Beautiful day, he was very happy.
I heard it was snowing like crazy in Philly. Coworkers flight cancelled this morning at the last minute
I just tried to shovel and it’s a waste of time. I’m hoping my plow guys come tonight to get me out. It’s a depth of snow that is iffy as to whether they come or not. I’m going absolutely stir crazy. I haven’t been out of the house all day – my highlight was folding laundry and ironing four of DH’s dress shirts.
My of my favorite books of all time is “The Long Winter” by Laura Ingalls Wilder. After today, I feel like I can almost identify with that. Although at least I’m warm, have power and food, and am not going to die from this cold and snow.
There is no snow in my local forecast for the next week. Maybe this is the end of it!!
My flight into PHL was cancelled but got on a flight to Newark instead. Hate going to PHL- I always get “waylaid” somehow. PHL is always the first to cancel flights in that region although a Southwest flight took off a few minutes before mine was cancelled. Makes no sense.
home at last!
It’s still coming down pretty good in south Jersey…but it got a later start than they predicted. We have about 5 inches now . My daughter is flying home from Boston tomorrow. I wonder if her flight might be delayed because of all of today’s cancelations ? She is flying into Philadelphia
HarvestMoon, it often doesn’t seem to make sense, but there are variables within airlines, aircraft and crews. They may decide to keep an airplane in place for no particular reason. We are not privy to the master plan…we just hope there IS a master plan!

I am VERY lucky that I got on the early morning flight (well it was 4 hrs late but did finally depart) and ran and was able to get on an earlier connection home, as now my original departure flight from Little Rock is delayed and the plane that is what would have been my connecting flight home originates in Pittsburgh. That may not make it in there either. So I count my lucky stars that I got to the airport super early to take a colleague and was able to get on the early flight.
OK, will ds and friends have any trouble getting out of Reagan tomorrow afternoon?
Snow is stopping and Reagan gets back in operation pretty quickly so should not have a problem unless their plane is stuck somewhere else.

Either the plane, or some part of the crew. I was delayed for two hours once because one of the flight attendants was arriving on another flight which was delayed.
DS3 and I just finished clearly out our driveway and cleaning off the cars again. Our local meteorologist (about 20 miles north of NYC) says this is our 17th storm of the year!!! We got about 6 inches this time. I can no longer throw the snow over the snowbanks lining our driveway.

Thank you @momof3sons Its been an ordeal and I am very , VERY lucky to be home. As I said elsewhere, my original flight is delayed and the connecting flight is sitting in the wrong city. And the temps are dropping. Going down 50 degrees in 2 days!!!
And I’m happy that I’m traveling tomorrow instead of today…and hope for NO snafus.

It looks like we got about 10", more than twice that was forecast. The biggest snowfall this winter.
I’m at my gate…yawn! Only snafu so far was my regular valet parking lot is flooding and I couldn’t park there. I just went to the airport long term parking…$12 vs $10. At 4 am I wasn’t making any other decisions.
