Welcome to Ohio Thumper! You have a decent weather-free weekend in store - the first weekend this year there hasn’t been significant snow in the forecast! Enjoy your family visit.
Montgomery County, Maryland (outside DC) – 8.5 inches of heavy wet snow. Temp got down to 5 last night. Took DH to the Metro at 6 am and the roads were still snow covered, though plows had been through.
We’ve only had two storms with appreciable snow, but it has been SO cold all winter. Am ready to move on from this!
My driveway is in the worst shape of the winter right now. The foot of the driveway has ruts and solid ice packed in and one of our cars keeps getting stuck when we pull in. It’s a pain to shovel the frozen walkways. The back door is frozen shut.
But 9 out of the next 10 days will be above freezing here in NY. That’s a start!
It * sounds * like spring outside…doesn’t look like it whatsoever, but when I take my dogs out in the morning , I am hearing a lot of birds that traditionally begin to show up this time of the year. I feel like we might be getting just a little bit closer to the end of this long, long winter
My son totalled his car trying to drive in the snow/ice in NY. Thankfully none of the four in the car were hurt. I have not lectured him, other than reminding him that future driving decisions should consider the weather forecast. Man I wish this kid didn’t keep learning things the hard way.

That is so fortunate that nobody was hurt!! Thank God.
I have been very worried, myself. My son is leaving today from Pennsylvania on a road trip to Florida with his fraternity brothers. That in itself sounds like trouble enough, but driving in snowy conditions makes me very nervous.
