So Amazon Prime Day Flopped, Let's Talk JET.COM

I had the same experience-- customer service is at jet 24/7 and they answered my 2 questions within 10 minutes.

Placed the following order.

It was supposed to be a set of 6 plates. I received only one. Customer service said that the post online was incorrect and that all that they could do was refund me the money for the item. The one plate was shipped from kmart. I don’t know why they couldn’t have ordered 5 more and shipped them to me. The advertised price was under $7 for a set of 6 plates. (which is a great deal) Since it was their mistake they should have taken the loss and honored what they advertised. I was told I didn’t need to return the plate and if I had no use for it I could just throw it away. I don’t think they can mess up the orders for the grocery items which haven’t arrived yet. Hoping for the best.

I did call them but all they offered was a refund. I am sure that there were other customers that ordered the same item. I am going to assume everyone who ordered this is getting a refund. They said they can’t order something that is no longer on their site.

Add that to their problem with my order (see Post # 13), and they’re not going to be very successful.

@Veryhappy In your case they over delivered. Sometimes it is better to shop the old fashioned way. Research price online and go to the store. Costco is quite a distance and I don’t think it is worth the membership for two people. If it was 5 minutes away and offered discount gas I would consider it. But then I would probably spend a ton of money once I walked in there on things I didn’t really need. I hate ordering online and then having to return an item. Hope there aren’t any problems with the remaining shipments which are groceries.

Have you sent it back yet, VH?

Nope. I’ve been very busy.

Maybe time will free up this weekend. It is the right thing to do. I also give cashiers back money if they give me too much change.

Often these companies can generate a return label with Fedex or UPS or whoever, that will pick up the package at your door. No need to take it anywhere. Easy peasy.

@VeryHappy
Just an update. I received an email from a Jet supervisor apologizing for the inconvenience with my order. They offered to send me 6 plates of a different design at no cost to me and also a refund of the original purchase price. They wanted to offer this to keep me as a customer. I think that was a very generous offer.

@raclut, that’s nice of them.

Jet alleges that FedEx will be here today between 9:00 AM and 5 PM to pick up the extra grill, and that I can just leave it outside and not worry about being home.

All good news!

I looked for several things that were in my Amazon cart and none of them were available on Jet. It may be good for some items but it doesn’t seem to have the things that I’m looking for so far.

I could be wrong but there seemed to be a better selection of items during the beta testing. Wish I’d bought then.

I like a good price, but I like information, selection, predictability and convenience more than a smokin’ hot deal most of the time.

I think once they get the bugs worked out they will be adding more products. No company grows overnight. Amazon has been around for awhile. I should be getting the rest of my shipment today. I will keeping checking the site to monitor the prices. The thing is when you put an item in the cart the price decreases especially when you put more than one sometimes so your overall bill gets reduced. That is not something I believe Amazon does. So sometimes with Jet the advertised price is just the sticker price not your final price. My order reduced by $25 when I went to checkout.

I just placed my first order so my free year begins today. Found another bug which I reported to them, and asked if they price match (nope, not yet). But I decided to give them a try. I did see the price drop the more items I selected. They should talk that up more.

How is the price mysteriously dropping when you add items to your cart better than a clearly advertised “add on” price on Amazon?

I dot think you can even buy the add on items unless you spend a certain amount. With these, the more you select, the bigger the discount. For instance, I forgot something I’d considered buying. If I buy it alone the discount is very small but if it had been purchased with the other items the discount was about 15%

Got purple Jet boxes delivered today with 10 items. Now I need to make room for this stuff. Waiting to hear a response from the supervisor on the plates to see if the set has been ordered. (these are the free ones)
