So Amazon Prime Day Flopped, Let's Talk JET.COM

Well… for those of you in Seattle, you can now order beer, wine and liquor from Amazon. Guess it will be less difficult to get that minimum purchase needed to stick on those “add-on” items! http://techcrunch.com/2015/08/25/amazons-prime-now-expands-to-seattle-region-adds-beer-wine-liquor-delivery-option/ AND you can get it in ONE HOUR!! No more drinking and driving. http://techcrunch.com/2015/08/25/amazons-prime-now-expands-to-seattle-region-adds-beer-wine-liquor-delivery-option/ This is not a good thing for those struggling with alcohol dependene issues. Makes it potentially harder to stay clean and sober.

People with alcohol dependency issues will drive to the corner store. If it’s that big a deal for them this would just keep the rest of us safer.

Aside from that different people prioritize different features and services. I like a deal but there are things that I want when I want them. Amazon Prime does that for me.

With all due respect, the only thing that's a bunch of bull is the constant drudging up of an old argument that is tiresome and really unnecessary. Amazon allows sharing of accounts. They do. And if they didn't want multiple delivery addresses and multiple credit cards on any one account, they wouldn't allow it. But they do. And its not just to send a gift to someone. So get off that already. Please.<<<

I am happy to let it go but do not misrepresent what I wrote in the past. The sharing of family accounts is indeed legal. But they cost 79 and 99 bucks. It is different from the sharing by parents of students’ accounts, which has ALWAYS been a clear violation of Amazon’s rules.

Not sure why it is hard to understand that the latter was or is the domain of cheats. By your logic, it will be OK for everyone to shop like Brown in Ferguson because the doors are not locked.

People here openly advocated the abuse of .edu accounts. They know whom they are.

I wonder what would happen to all the jet accounts when its trial period is over and they will have to charge a fee? To stay in business, they clearly need to differentiate themselves somehow.

With Jet.com there is no auto enroll of membership so billing will not take place once the trial period expires. The question is will people be willing to pay the annual fee to use Jet once the trial period is over?

update:
Placed an order about a week ago- 7 different items and with coupon , etc it came to about $25. Items arrived in 3 different boxes (the biggest box, with 5 of the 7 items was smooshed, but fortunately the items were well wrapped) on 3 different days. Today came a box of 8 o’clock coffee keurig cups. I had forgotten the taste and smell of that-- its what my grandmother used to make and drink. Having enjoyable flashbacks to my childhood

Ordered items Monday night. (labor day) Received confirmation that order was shipped on Tuesday. Received one package on Wednesday and two on Thursday. Pleased with whatever I received especially since I got a great deal and a bonus $10 off my order. Always love a good deal.

My orders were not that fast. Took about a week for the last one to arrive. One item took 4 days to confirm, but got here fast as it was from not far away.

Ordered 2 things during the current “no shipping cost” sale. Just got an email that one item couldnt be fulfilled. It was a package of walnuts. The plain diamond walnuts you use to put in brownies, etc. Really? Cant get a bag of walnuts?

I’ve unsubscribed from their way-too-numerous emails. I’m done with Jet.

Jet has been sadly rather problematic. They did finally do the right thing today and credit me (cr card credit) for the price of some thing when they made a billing error on their end after they ASSURED me it wouldn’t charge, but SURPRISE, it did. So this took another call to correct what they assured me wouldn’t happen (on the previous call) and at first they were going to “have to look into it”, and “escalate it” and “call me back in a few days”. Um, no. I wanted it resolved with this call, and when I asked to speak to the supervisor who reportedly escalated it, the person was not available. The customer service rep ultimately took ownership and went ahead and issued me a credit card credit (we are not talking a lot of money here, but it was their error). First they said they couldn’t do a partial credit, then they said they’d have to get back to me, etc. The credit to my credit card might take several days to appear, but I will watch for it.

She then offered me a small store credit (which I’d had before but they didn’t apply as they were supposed to), but the credit she offered didnt apply on my account! Fortunately she caught it and fixed it. So, with that, and the small credit they gave me for the inconvenience, I ordered something else that I could use, and with the credit, what I had to pay was reasonable (the cost was above my credit). Lets just HOPE this order doesn’t get screwed up or cancelled too.

Update:
So I got the partial order I ordered on Sept. 25, but also got another box of some snack bars I didn’t order. Poor jet. They aren’t going to make it at this rate.

I couldn’t resist any longer and placed a small order today. Hopefully it will come in one shipment.

And as if I thought they couldn’t possibly screw up any more, they have. Pending OVERCHARGE for the item I bought with the credit in my account. If/when I ever get this straightened out, it will be the last order I place with them.

Got a postcard in the mail from Jet with a code for $15 off a $50 order. But… If the total comes down to $35, shipping is not free! Lol. Did not have the time to read the finer fine print to see if that’s pre or post discount. Off in the trash the postcard went.

I got the same postcard. Based on people’s issues with Jet reported here, I also threw the postcard in the trash.

I have actually saved money on Jet. I plan to use the trial membership. I don’t have Prime or Costco membership so it works for me.

I also got the postcard. No thanks. When I buy things online I want predictability and convenience. I want to know what I’m getting, when I’m getting it and what shape it will be in when it arrives. I often save money on Amazon but I always save time, gas and aggravation.

If I want something as basic as walnuts I have my choice of 4 grocery stores within 5 minutes. No need to order them online and hope for the best.
