No $, but good opportunities. It’s a competitive program (10% acceptance)
Admission - SMU.
1520 SAT
4.0 UW
Top 4% class rank
4 AP’s taken which I scored 5’s on all
24 Dual credit with an additional 12 credits next semester
Hopefully, you’re in the running for a full scholarship!
Bro’s tryna flex. Just be happy you got the money. They obviously did it because you’re a strong applicant and they want you to attend. “How rare is this? Please hype me up.”
Yes, my son heard yesterday.
I still haven’t heard anyone say the SMU Honors acceptance is a distinguishing program. They state top 10% of applicants, but how is the program itself? Is it truly a differentiating Honors experience or just a few extra course/seminar obligations with an Honors stamp on the diploma?
I have this same question. It sounds great in theory but is it a difference maker? My daughter was accepted as a distinguished scholar as well.
Anyone know of finalist notification timeline for Hunt or President’s Scholars?
Honestly, I think it’s something that looks good on your diploma. Since my son is currently in the honors program at the University, I don’t know how it will impact him later in the future. Perhaps someone who already graduated from the program will have a different perspective. That said, he does enjoy his honors classes, and they are small and unique.
Any word on when EA is getting their financial aid packages?
Probably not till FAFSAs are sent out by the government.
when does that happen?
Should be by the end of the month, but you never know with the government.
DD was deferred to RD anyone know when those normally come out? Website says mid March. Any idea what date it was in 2023? Thanks
How did you come out with UT Austin?
Denied But i’m feeling good about UF since I got into U Miami and most people who get in there also get into UF.
Daughter was accepted in '28 as a Distinguished Scholar and admission into the honors program. She did not note business as a desired major, but now that she is looking at the Cox School of Business (we had no idea it was so highly rated) she is wanting to go that route, if SMU is her final choice. I guess my question is this…is the Cox School of Business direct application only, like McCombs? Or can you apply or transfer in once you start freshman year and claim your major? Thank you!
My kiddo was capped at UT; I am amazed that kids with such stellar stats cannot get into their flagship state university. It is just so uber competitive! Best of luck with UF!
Most go in direct to start…kind of like McCombs. I think it is possible to transfer in but someone more knowledgeable can comment on how challenging it may or may not be.
It’s direct only. She can apply sophomore year.
