Don’t know about SMU, but most schools have a pool allocated for merit and as kids drop out to choose another school or whatever they reallocate. Sometimes you need to ask for it though, and others they will offer unprompted. But usually some frees up as process goes on.

Just to clarify, my D24 got in, not me I couldn’t get admitted today with my grades!
For anyone waitlisted for Cox, My daughter was admitted last night to the Cox school. She was originally admitted to SMU back in December but waitlisted for Cox. I personally believe she was qualified back then but of course I’m biased. So there is hope if you were waitlisted.

Any one of the 28,000 views on this link submit a Hunt application and get an invite, or a notification that you were not selected?
Still waiting and hopeful here - I feel like I have contributed my fair share of the “views” checking back in for the last week though

Daughter applied for Hunt and has not been notified one way or the other. Pretty frustrating honestly since they were supposed to be notified a couple of weeks ago.

Yes, 93.2 UW/97 W which who knows how that stacks up to GPA, but probably around 3.7-3.8 UW, 4.1-4.2W? We were also TO.
Just got the email. It came in at 4:28pm. Rejected. Says they had 450 applicants for limited spots…prob taking SMU off the table now even with Provost and Dedmans bc UT offer is better. Still in the waiting game at other schools not releasing until March. Congrats to those that got Hunt!

Accidentally posted in 2024 thread. Reposting.
We were admitted EA to Cox, and my son is in the process of narrowing down his options. SMU near the top of the list. Did we miss the boat on housing or is there a big rush to get it done quickly?
