Out of curiosity, does SMU send out an admission packet in the mail? I swear I’ve seen in ED and prior years, they send out a red packet with a banner, etc. We haven’t received anything yet so was wondering what others know?
We haven’t received anything either!
I reached out to our admission counselor and she said they should go out this week for EA.
Would you know if that would include Financial Aid Package? TY
The financial aid package should be in your student’s SMU portal (ours is). It was available a few days before my daughter received an email that it was available.
Anyone know the date when applicants of scholarships (ie President’s) are notified if they made it past the first round?
I’m also curious, all the website says is “February”
I think it’s still too early. In previous years, it was around Valentine’s Day. My best guess is 2 weeks from now.
I think interviews were the last weekend in February so hopefully it will be sooner rather than later to give people enough notice to make travel arrangements
Got a postcard in the mail today that “invited me to become a member of the c/o 29” … is this the admit packet because that would be kind of embarrassing haha
Last year invitations were sent on 2/9
We haven’t even received that lol.
We got ours yesterday
Daughter just received her admission packet! Fancy! It was fun to watch her open.
Anyone know when ED2 should be released? Is it really mid March?!
I just checked our mail and it wasn’t in there - maybe tomorrow. We did get TCU today though!
Son received the admission package as well. Its definitely fancier than other schools.
According to the SMU website, ED2 candidates will be notified by mail by March 1.
When will I receive a decision on my application?
Students who apply Early Decision I by the November 1 deadline will be notified of the decision on their application by mail in mid-December. Students who apply Early Decision II by the January 15 deadline will be notified by mail by March 1. While Early Decision candidates may file nonbinding applications to other colleges, they must immediately withdraw all other applications and enroll at SMU if they are admitted under one of the Early Decision plans.
Ugh that’s so late
WashU told my kid to wait until April. Seriously? I am so over the whole college admissions process at this point.
