Lots of these schools have serious balls. Unless it’s your top top choice and you’d die to go there who’s gonna want to wait that long when so many other schools release months earlier.

For what it’s worth, early action is a pretty novel concept. My oldest kid did not apply anywhere early action because it wasn’t really a thing back then. We all had to wait until late March or early April (the exception being rolling admissions for state schools). I think having this hybrid model produces major unnecessary anxiety in these kids. Of course, we are so thankful to have an early decision because it has taken an enormous weight off our shoulders but regular decision is still where most kids will learn and decide their future. Do they only send the admission package if you accept? My daughter got in December 19 but hasn’t received anything.
No. We haven’t paid the deposit either. It was personalized, however, with a certificate of admission with their name on it, detailed scholarship letters etc. so maybe your student’s is still being worked on and in the mail? I would reach out maybe next week if you haven’t received it.
Same, rejected by Hunt. I must say though that I was surprised there were only 450 applicants. I thought there were over 1,000 last year. Bummer but worth a try!

President’s Scholar emails are out. My DD did not get it. Oh well…she has several great opportunities. Good luck students and parents!
DD received an Admission package today. We have some decisions to make and may attend a Mustang Day in April.

My son received his package too… OOS… I’ve got dibs on the sticker! 
FYI, Son received email that decision for ED2 being released tonight at 7pm central time. Good luck to all! (Interestingly the email states that if you wish to withdraw application you can click on a link.)
Son admitted ED2! Does anyone know when financial aid packages should be released? Is smu historically somewhat generous with need based aid? Also, are there accepted students days already schedules? My son told me he got in but not much more (he’s away at prep school so not living at home).

If you applied ED, then didn’t you run the NPC to see if you qualify for aid? because you should now be committed according to doing ED?
