Stanford 2014 SCEAers

hp… it’s one of my weaknesses .

I love Harry Potter, though the books got worse as they went on. I love the 1st one though.

I fell asleep in Lord of the Rings and Star Wars though. :)

Magical powers
i wish i had some ha

Uh oh. Stanford is playing the Sooners in the sun bowl… I am torn between, I don’t want to be traitor to my sooners, maybe an acceptance letter will sway me (any adcoms out there). It will be a really good game. If I get in I will cheer for Stanford like crazy, if I get rejected I will want the sooners to avenge me, and if I get wait listed then I won’t really care.

Really? I really liked the 6th HP. Or 5th. I can’t remember. I really liked the last one…makes you not want to believe it’s all over.
I like Star Wars.
May the force be with you all on the 15th.

yea i thought the last 4 were stellar…

@ mfed lol well sonny, I remember when I was a young whippersnapper poster like you. Don’t worry in due time you too will gain seniority.

Hmm. I don’t know. I thought they just went on forever. Like, they were good, but they got worse.

shoot I didn’t refresh the page and now I’ll all out of topic darn.

to be honest the first 3 i would rate pretty low, if i had to rate them it would probably go:

(worst) 2, 4, 1, 5, 3, 6, 7 (best)

actually the 2nd was really well written/planned but i just hated it because nothing good EVER happened pretty much in the entire book, it was bad after bad after horribad things that happend to harry…

i think that harry needed to die… I was never in love with the character. Also, I feel like JK made the deaths seem so impersonal… they weren’t as epic as the characters deserved.

i probably would have a hard time waking up after i read the 7th book if he had actually died.

Yeah I totally pictured him dying even though I knew she wouldn’t kill him off.

I got over HP halfway through the second book and never looked back. LOTR, on the other hand, is awesome!

So I’m about to buy my Sun Bowl tickets and I will either be cheering for Stanford out of pride or cheering for OU out of spite.

i love LOTR too,

please dont crucify me for saying this though, and i would like to preface this with i have the utmost respect for the books and thoroughly enjoyed them but…

i almost think the movies were better

i know its heresy to say that but omg the movies were SOO GOOD, but again thats just imo and i know there are probably a few billion people who would care to disagree with me

I always thought they were boring. I normally don’t like fantasy. HP was okay because the people were normal looking in it. LOTR was just too complicated to follow. I wish I could appreciate them though. My life would be much easier.

@Anon: I agree, the people in HP were just much easier to relate to… HP is like a well executed version of Twilight (stephanie meyers failed epicly in my opinion). Normal kids, extraordinary lives.

I wanted to shoot myself in the face with Twilight.

I didn’t read the books or see the movies. I saw no point. From what I hear, the story line is unbelieveable, the writing is awful, and the plot is predictable.
