Stanford 2014 SCEAers

What’s so great about reaching 5000?

+1

I’m helping it go along. I guess this thread serves no purpose anymore. It’s sad how quickly we all dispersed. :(

Oh “sour grapes” means something more along the lines of deciding something is not good enough anyway when you can’t obtain it. Wordnet says “disparagement of something that is unattainable.”
But Rolandic is sort of right, in the sense that sore losers use the sour grapes tactic a lot (I have no shame). :D

Wow this thread really is dying! Awww. But we’re only at 4804. This is going to take forever, haha.

My +1 for the day. This is so sad. I got rejected but I’m still posting here. :(

Anonymous, maybe it would help for you to give CC a break for a while. Surely, constantly reminding yourself of what transpired cannot be helpful to the psyche. Look, judging from your stats, you are an excellent student with dedication. I am sure that you will be accepted to a wealth of elite schools. When it boils down to it, Stanford really isn’t the only amazing school out there. Good luck to you.

Stanford
+1
.
.

Yeah honestly Anon, you have got no reason whatsoever to be insecure just b/c Stanford turned you down! I was shocked when I read that you got rejected, and I’m sure everyone else was as well - your stats are amazing, any college would be lucky to have you.
Just go visit Stanford admissions office when you get into HYP and rub all 3 acceptance letters in their faces :)

stanford doesn’t have any epic amazing snowball fights like the one at UW madison that had over 2000 people participating…nope they don’t. xD

I think that’s because Stanford doesn’t have snow. Which is actually a good thing; the cold is not my favorite.

this thread is sad for me and i was accepted
im gona miss talking to all you guys.

Hahaha, I took a break and I’m over it now. I want to see this thread hit 5000! Just because Stanford rejected me doesn’t mean I should support the people that made this thread awesome.

So I will help bring this to 5000.

+1 for good luck!

Haha maybe its a good thing there are no snowball fights at Stanford, after what happened in DC

Hannibal, Agrippa, Robert Lee, Pyrrhus, Scipio, Julius Caesar

can anyone guess what this list is about?

your favorite people / movies list?

Actually it was legendary military commanders, but adding Napoleon or Alexander the Great would have given it away

Lol I feel silly now. I knew who Julius Caesar was, of course, and I heard about the movie Hannibal, but I thought it was some serial killer or something. (I’m really good at history, I know.)

For some reason, I thought Robert Lee was an actor. Definitely knew Robert E. Lee though. He was my favorite commander in the Civil War, even though he fought for the Confederates. Sigh.

Help me with my Stanford app to make me feel better? :)

What happened in DC?
LOL Cadillac, I thought the same thing about Robert Lee. I am not a history person either.
And also, I’d offer to help you with your app, but I didn’t get in, so clearly I was doing something wrong ahah.

Oh God, I hate history.
+1 for today.
