Stanford Waitlist - Class of 2028

Someone on Reddit said mid May. I’m Not sure how creditable that is.

I know it is hard to move on but the only thing we can do now is find happiness in the school that we committed to. Getting off the waitlist is so rare that I try not to focus on it too much to prepare myself mentally:)

Mid May sounds more realistic maybe they’re waiting for transfer decisions and will announce our results after that

Could any domestic students please reach out to Stanford admissions :sob:. Thank you so much!

Guys what if they’re making us wait like this so they can give us a sweet big surprise in the end by admitting everyone off the waitlist

Be realistic. This is not a fairytale.

Called them this morning, they said can’t share anything beyond “will find out before July 1”. Asked if anyone would be coming off the waitlist and they had the same answer. It did sound like no one has come off yet :man_shrugging:

I do think they are not going to go for wait-lists this year. Historically they do for the last 7 years they are taking off people from the wait-list. I don’t know what to say now. I guess we wait till the transfer decisions are out.

If their yield overshot their estimations, then they’d probably have said that nobody’s getting off. Maybe their yield came very close to their estimations and they are rereviewing applicants to see if there are any students they overlooked and can squeeze into the class of 2028 at this moment.

Thanks for taking the time to call.
I know it is wishful thinking but maybe they are doing things differently this year due to fafsa?

Each day goes by it gets a little less likely they will use the waitlist. Hopefully everyone here had already committed or will commit to a great school!

The fact is I was rejected from every school I applied to except for Stanford (waiting). I did got into some safety school but couldn’t commit due to COA being very High. I was even rejected from schools having 50% rate. Stanford should have rejected me straight away this way I would have healed by now. I don’t know how it is going to turn out I believe it would be beautiful by god’s will. I can’t take gap year because I was already in one can’t go to school in my country because I don’t know what I want to study and here once you choose you can’t change. Hoping for the best.

Sorry, but what do you think Stanford is going to cost?

Probably high but I have applied for aid. The safety universities that I applied to didn’t accepted CSS profile from international students they did gave some merit aid but it was not enough for my condition. Stanford is one of the few universities in the world that match 100% demonstrated need.

hey, exactly the same thing is happening with me. I am from Uzbekistan, you?

Hey guys, fyi- my friend called the admission office this morning and she told me the lady told her they are still working on everything since the admitted students barely committed last week. She also said it sounded like they will be admitting some students off the waitlist but need to finalize everything first and should hear back before July 1st. I guess there is still hope:)

Glad to hear that.

Good Luck Everyone!!!

Also I believe many people have not committed yet as I saw two people on reddit getting an extension to decide wether they want to come or not so that could also be one of the reasons they have not given a decision yet for the waitlists

The deadline for the waitlist response form was May 1st, so it would make sense for the waitlist results to come after that!!

Transfers are out today and I’ve heard from previous years that decisions come out the next Thursday after transfer decisions not sure how true is this but it is what it is. We might have wl movement anytime now hopefully
