looking at previous years stanford usually doesnt do rolling basis but waves at one single day. do you think the first wave was over last Friday then? or would it still be moving until at least this week?

I think it depends on the number of students got in this week apart from the one already mentioned in reddit. Do you guys know anyone else who got in?

Probably no. This was the first I heard got off the waitlist.

There might be ones who don’t post.

Good luck to everyone on here! Hopefully we will hear some good news from this group.

It seems that Stanford most likely does two waves: one wave in mid may and a final wave at the end of june. it also seems that the notification for decisions usually come out every Friday around 7pm EST. is this true? so maybe I’m guessing its going to be this Friday and if not we have to wait until end of june?

hm kinda confused rn cause i just called the admission office they said they are still in the process of going through who committed or didn’t commit as some students got an extension so waitlist applicants are still not all reviewed yet

That’s what my friend told me when she called admissions last week.

Well we do know of one person that got admitted last Friday. Seems like they are really behind this year.

may be it is only one person? but still, it doesn’t sound realistic that they accepted off the waitlist only one student. Also, how could they accept anyone from the waitlist without finalizing the students who committed them?

Last year they started to accept students one week after the first year desicions were out. Anything is possible, it might be that the person is lying or they have accepted few other who did not post. Or maybe they are going to accept only one student off waitlist.

I wanted to ask to those people who have called Stanford admission office that could you please describe word by word they said on the call. I was checking Harvard CC and I found that the admission office there had already made a list of students to accept off the waitlist. Here we don’t have any idea that either they are going to accept or not, except that 1 student on reddit whom we are unsure about. It’s a humble request.

They said word for word: confidential, but will release decisions as soon as possible

I was just checking the last years mega thread and came to know that the response we have been getting that ‘we are waiting for the final commitments from the students’ is not new, they got same answer up till 1st June. I don’t know what going on but I think that they are not going to take more students off the waitlist. Tomorrow is the day when we can hear back if they are utilising waitlists this year (as per last megathreads). If they are not utilising waitlists this year we will hear back by 15th June about our final rejections.

so youre saying if we dont hear good news by tomorrow they are not using the waitlist anymore? why do you say so?

I know what you are saying but then again this year is the first year they gave out extensions. Maybe we can’t gauge using previous years’ data since this year is an outlier due to fafsa :woman_shrugging:
All we can do now is prepare for the worst but hope for the best

whats wrong with fafsa? and does it have to do something with international students?
