I am normally an optimistic person, but I have begun to feel the same now…
The latest commitment extension we know of is until this Friday (someone made a reddit post about it). The admissions team needs to know what demographics, majors, and talents are missing to decide who will be taken off, and that will happen when the deadline passes. Stay optimistic!

I am sure we all worked extremly hard to get into Stanford, and I have been reading a lot of comments on this forum for this past month. I am normally an optimistic person but honestly I believe it is over. If Stanford Does not pull take any one off from the waitlist either tomorrow or Friday, It is over. It hurts, but I know all our hardwork will pay off in the future. I have officially given up on this dream and wish you all the absolute best.

somebody on the internet posted that they called the admissions office. the person said they accepted a small cohort of students two weeks ago and it is TBD if they will accept more or stop but will give final decision by july 1

Well, that means they are waiting for the few students that were given an extension. Therefore, even by a miracle that most of them gave up the spot at Stanford, we would be only left with few spots.
Yes I agree it will be like winning the lottery so best to move on.
I saw like 20-30 kids on reddit alone give up their spot. Whos gonna take their spot isn’t that supposed to be filled with the waitlist
No school, not even Stanford, expects 100% of the people who were offered admission to attend. They expect a certain number of accepted students to decline. So no, those spots don’t go to WL students.

I saw someone from discord a2c decommit from Harvard as they got into stanford from the waitlist
The recently admitted small number of students from the waitlist. Sounds like there won’t be large admission from the waitlist this year. Time to move on.
