Super Bowl Snacks 2015!

Wouldn’t be the Parent Cafe without a yearly thread about Super Bowl snacks, right?!

I always say whether you watch for the game, the commercials, or just the snacks it’s a good reason to stay home and whip up some delicious food.

Not sure what’s on my menu yet (hence, this thread for ideas!) but have to say this one caught my eye and for some reason sounds REALLY interesting :

One of our “deluxe” grocery stores makes really good pizzas. You can buy them pre-cooked and bake them yourselves. I picked one up for Sunday, but that’s all I’ve done. We currently have no plans to host a party or to attend one. I guess I’ll just pair it with a nice salad and a good cabernet.

But I was hoping someone would start this thread.

I literally just a minute ago found this link in my email in-box. They all look awesome and only three ingredients!

^^^^The bacon wrapped tater tots didn’t do it for me, but many of the others look intriguing. I love stuffed mushrooms, and those mini brie things look great!

We’ll be serving deflated (pigskin) balls.

Going to a super bowl/wine tasting party. I’m bringing this http://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/chicken-club-brunch-ring#.

I knew you all would come through!

Deb922, that looks delicious - and it’s visually appealing!

Love some of those 3 ingredient - I had actually seen the bacon-tater tot one yesterday and agree that that is a bit too much for me, but I’ve been hankering for the bacon/water chestnuts appetizers. I just bought brie yesterday and think that recipe would go over well at my house.

This is my appetizer. Stuff dates with Gorgonzola cheese, wrap in bacon and roll in brown sugar. Cook at 425, 15-18 minutes, turn over half way through. Easy and I pretend that Its somewhat healthy as it has fruit. Works with figs, I’ll put the cheese on the side.

Not a homemade snack, but Trader Joe’s Hot Pico de Gallo is my new obsession and thus will be there in spades.

We’ll also be making what we call tomato pizza- slices of tomato drizzled with olive oil, basil, mozzarella cheese, and some other spices. Not exactly easy to eat but sooooo addicting.

I’ll be following this page because I want to surprise my family by actually making something edible that doesn’t come out of a box :stuck_out_tongue:

Today Show had three dips…looked yummy (not exactly healthy though  )

I am not hosting -but I keep seeing neat things on my FB feed
like this: http://addapinch.com/cooking/bean-dip-recipe/

and these little footballs: http://shewearsmanyhats.com/chocolate-peanut-butter-footballs/

The dips should be served in deflated and halved Wilson balls. Call them Pats’ dip!

On a serious note, it is super easy to bake bread bowls to replace serving dishes. Super easy and super cheap as well!

Sounds really good. You can also do something similar with those large portobello mushrooms. You brush with olive oil and roast for a few minutes, then add pizza sauce and mozarella and broil til the cheese is melted. Really tasty.

@gosmom, that pizza dip looks great.

Hey! My hoagie dip was featured on @gosmom link!

Make your dips and spreads healthier by subbing in lots of cut up veggies in place of chips, crackers, breads, etc. You can spread a thick dip on a lettuce leaf and roll up for a yummy roll up. Or choose some recipes without carbs but still delicious - like date recipe or the portobello recipe above.

Oh, thanks for the tip nrdsb! I can’t eat mushrooms but my mom loves them. I’ll try that modification

That makes me really want bruschetta right now :stuck_out_tongue:

^^^Oh, I feel for anyone who can’t eat mushrooms!

My brother says you might as well eat a live snail if you are going to eat mushrooms. He hates them.

Love this stuff:

Thumbs up to the buffalo chicken dip!

I’m being asked to bring some Seattle munchies to the party since we will represent the home state. I’m thinking smoked salmon spread (real hot smoked salmon, not lox), some Cougar Gold cheese something…Washington wines, some kind of apple finger-food dessert? What else?
