I think if it had been the other way around, John would have come out to congratulate his brother.

I couldn’t be happier with the result and folks here in Baltimore are going a little crazy.

If Jim wants an example of being a classy coach, he needs to look no further than his big brother. John just apologized for losing his cool during the power outage, and had nothing but compliments for his brother, the 49ers team, and their coaching staff. Every loss is emotional. Put on your big boy pants and be a professional.

The only people I feel sorry for is whomever had Ravens 4 and 49ers 9 in the Super Bowl squares pool. Great/gutsy call by the Ravens to take the safety and take time off the clock.

He did congratulate John at the end of the game like John said when receiving the trophy.

I don’t see why people should take heat for things like these. What exactly does the world expect to gain from an interview after a huge loss? It’s a redundant formality that nobody should care about. If anything it’s just another slap in the face at the loser.

what?

Great game Ravens!

A redundant formality that’s a longheld tradition of sports. After a HS game, the losing team lines up to shake hands/whatever with the winning team at midfield. It’s a sign of respect. Think they want to be there? He’s been doing interviews his whole professional career. Until now. No class.

I did think the Ravens would win but I had hoped they wouldn’t give me heart failure while doing it! Good, close game at the end. I loved the safety play too - it was a bit comical watching that big guy dance around with the ball while the clock ran down.

I don’t like watching Jim H with his tantrums and whiny fits. It’s hard to like a team when they have a coach like that. New England suffers from the same problem.

For that last 4 seconds on the clock, nobody was celebrating yet it was still too tense!

I meant publicly. It’s part of the tradition. If you’re interviewed after a win, you should be interviewed after a loss. Jim stood behind the door when classiness was given out.

oh well. the Ravens deserve it. And Jim is a great coach, in my opinion.

Jim is a great coach - no doubt. He did an incredible job with that team. He could be just as good a coach I think if he had a little more self control.

I was the director for a while for a non-profit basketball league. If any of my coaches acted in a disrespectful manner, they would be punished. And these are volunteer coaches. Why should coaches making millions get treated any differently? If anything, they are paid to keep up appearances.

Most 49er fans in the Bay Area know that Jim Harbaugh rarely gives interviews and doesn’t like the media in general. After the Niners win against Atlanta 2 weeks ago, the Fox network couldn’t find him to get an interview. They probably wouldn’t have gotten a decent interview from him even if they had won the Superbowl. The players like him and they’ve had several good seasons with him, so I really don’t care if he gives interviews or not.

Great game, two entirely different teams on each side before and after power outage.
drama all the way till the end.

Happy for Ravens win because of Ed Reed and almost all girls are for Michael Oher ;)

community based volunteer activities are night and day difference from the pros. It’s a different ball game, no pun intended.

Why? Class and sportsmanship should be universal regardless of the circumstances.

And I already acknowledged that they were different. I asked why should they be allowed to act differently?

Congrats Ravens! Sad 49ers lost but looking forward to next season. Moving attention now towards L.A. Clippers, Golden State Warriors and San Jose Sharks.

Great game! Commercials were fair at best! Nothing special! Half time was fair also!

Jim did not go to the midfield to shake hand with John and congratulate him? Did you not see that?

Jim should have done the interview. Part of the job. Period. My uber competitive 15 year old is a more gracious loser than he is.

Calls made and missed all game long helping/hurting both teams including the 49er QB run for a touchdown play. It would not have been a one possession game if not for that, so I don’t think that one no-call is so egregious even with the timing. Commentators at the time and this morning on ESPN radio said they agreed with the refs.

I was happy it was interesting in the second half. I am just glad Moss, the self proclaimed greatest ever, did not catch a game winning pass.

On to baseball spring training!
