Superbowl Snacks and Favorites

That time of year again. I’m not really interested in the teams this year but I’m always interested in the Super Bowl food. :face_savoring_food:

Any plans? Whatcha eating? Who are you rooting for?

If you aren’t joining in the SB festivities at all, that’s cool, just drive on by this thread. :sport_utility_vehicle:

While as I said I’m not really invested in either team, I dislike the Patriots(not talking about the players) for a couple of reasons so I’ll be rooting for the Seahawks. But the football is secondary for me.

Food wise, not totally sure yet! I’m thinking some meat “smash” - in other words, smash burgers or I saw a video for smashed chicken tacos using ground chicken and then all the toppings. Also have my eye on a chopped italian sub salad (so sub ingredients, chopped and no bread) and/or some type of hot artichoke dip.

We will be at our good friends house since they always host a huge party. I will bring my buffalo chicken dip and homemade chocolate chip cookies. We aren’t really rooting for a team, but if I had to it would be Seattle as I have to support our west coast!

We are hosting the family and a friend’s son. Setting up “do it yourself” fajitas, chips/dip, cheese and crackers, fruit and veggies

We don’t watch, but Superbowl Sunday is definitely a culinary holiday in our house…the perfect excuse to eat buffalo wings and pizza for dinner.

I’m also pondering loaded baked potato soup :bowl_with_spoon:

I have a strange love of Helluva Good French Onion Dip, with some kind of ridged potato chips. I don’t know why. It’s objectively terrible for me. It’s so terrible for me that I almost never eat it. But I LOVE it. Superbowl Sunday is the only time I allow myself this treat, so whatever else we’re having, I’ll be having that.

We’re rooting for the Patriots. Which is a very strange sentence to type, as I have been an “Anyone But The Patriots” kind of person for a long time. But, and this is petty, I know, I have a friend who is a huge Seahawks fan and super obnoxious about it. Puts every other team down in a not fun teasing but meanspirited disparaging way, and her Seahawks can do no wrong. Ergo, I always, always, root against the Seahawks. Because I don’t want her to feel vindicated.

I mean, it’s delicious. A staple of any of our family gatherings and ALWAYS brought on vacation.

Helluva Good with DARK RUSSET chips is the best!
Not that I would make this for the Super Bowl, but another potato related treat I love is potatoes with onions friend in peanut oil. My son, DIL and I eat 5 lbs between the 3 of us, and we would likely eat more if I could fit more in my pan.

Do you have a recipe you love for Baked Potato Soup?

Plenty of recipes out there and you can easily do substitutions but this one is good

We’re going to a big Super Bowl party. Seahawks all the way for me (I hate the Pats).

I’m bringing a loaded tater tot casserole to share. (Tater tots, ground beef w/taco seasoning or crumbled bacon, cheddar cheese, topped with diced tomatoes, green onions, and sour cream).

Seahawks all the way here! Only definite for Sunday is sliders. Guess I better figure it out!

Jambalaya. For years, I prepared it from scratch, but this year because of the cold-snap I’m not expecting a huge crowd. So, it’ll be “Ragin’ Cajun“ instant mixed with sauteed andouille chicken sausage. Go Pats!

Avocados were 6 for $3 so making guacamole, going to a small gathering of good friends and there will be too much food.

I’ll be going to D and SIL’s so I’ll have to see what D comes up with.

Im making a crab and artichoke dip! Gotta live large. It’s not like Seahawks go to the Superbowl every year!

Our friends always host a big party, of which a small minority will actually sit and watch the game. I’ll probably make a Mexican chicken dip.

We shake it up every year as far as food, but it’s always a bunch of not healthy appy type things. This year I’m making these delicious Reuben bites we usually make around St Patty’s Day or New Year’s, bacon wrapped Cajun jalapeños, and a nacho bake. The second two are new recipes.

Oh and we’ll be rooting for the Pats!

My husband makes bacon wrapped cheese filled jalapeños every New Year’s Eve, has for decades, after I had a grocery online order oops and ordered 2 pounds of jalapeños instead of 2 jalapeños.
