If you want to be considered for a scholarship you must fill out enclosed questionnaire and submit a 90 second dance video for review
@Momof3girls1273 yes we just got a congratulatory email for montclair saying we passed through the Dancewave portion of the audition. But I believe we have to reaudition on campus with the guarantee to make it through to solo and interview round.
It also said we could submit 90 second solo and questionnaire for scholarship.
Is this the email you got? Or you were admitted immediately?
@gmfalv my email said either come to audition and see the school or if you can not make it to submit the attached questionnaire. Not really sure what that means. It’s not one of my Daughters top choices so I don’t know if we are even going to submit a application
@momof3girls yes that’s what we got. Apparently they don’t accept anyone outright from Dancewave- you either pass prescreen and are guaranteed to make it all the way through or you get rejected I heard.
We’re interested so we’re going to submit and audition. We’re close enough in NY
My DD attended Dancewave but only submitted resumes for a few schools she was interested in. So far she has received acceptance from Buffalo, DeSales, Sacred Heart and invite from Towson - which she is auditioning for next week. She has an audtion scheduled for Pace already. So she is waiting on Temple. Hoping to hear back soon.
She didn’t apply, but received a call from Studio School, emails from Rider and a school in Chicago.
I went through this trying process with my daughter last year. I follow these feeds because it was very beneficial to me to have insight from others who had gone through the process the year before us. Just a thought for all of you… This is very early in the process. It’s a long and painful process. Several schools won’t let you know until March. Think about it… if you are a top dance school… are you going to fill your entire freshman class in the fall? Unlikely. Most schools want to see their options over the entire season and will then decide. I know it is scary. I hated hearing that my daughter will end up where she should be. Honestly though, she did.
@Jenibv my D is signed up for pace audition too on November 16.

Does anyone understand the process with the University of South Florida? If you are admitted academically, do they place you in a leveled class or reject you outright if you don’t measure up? I was reading that you have to be placed in level 1 for ballet and modern in order to declare the dance major. We have an audition set up for the end of November and I am wondering if it will be worth the trip.
@gmfalv D was going to do the Pace Intensive last week, but we had a family event and had to cancel. Now she can’t audition until February.
@Massmom72 You are correct in that USF rehires an audition but it is for placement only. In other words, as long as your dancer can place into their level 1 ballet and is accepted into he school academically, they can work toward the BA dance degree. If it is a school on your radar, I know several of my daughters friends really loved the school and the audition/placement class there.
