I guess these things come in pairs? Last week she was rejected from Peabody without auditioning and this morning she was accepted to Rutgers without auditioning. This one was a much more pleasant surprise. She is going to look into the application and program and decide if she should go forward.
@emilyhuntnelson and @Momof3girls1273 and anyone else waiting to hear from Purchase via Dancewave results: My daughter is currently a Purchase sophomore and attended Dancewave two years ago. She got an email re Dancewave from Purchase inviting her to a campus audition and waiving her audition/application fees. So I would go ahead and schedule a campus audition if you haven’t already. If you are admitted to Purchase from Dancewave, you can cancel the on-campus audition. If you get the “come to campus, we’ll waive the fees” email, you will have the date of your choice and you can plan other auditions accordingly. We heard that Purchase is doing very few direct admits from Dancewave, and would prefer to see applicants on campus. But we do know two boys that were admitted to Purchase directly from Dancewave-one went to IU and another went to a ballet trainee program after high school.
Ha ha we just got an acceptance from Rutgers as well, telling my daughter what a great fit they thought she would be for their program–which has her second-guessing whether she was wrong when crossing them off because it didn’t seem like the best fit!
We just got an email acceptance from Rutgers Mason Gross.! We be attending the school to audition for scholarships.
According to the letter they accept 35-40 freshman vs. the 20 accepted at George Mason.
My DD worked the George Mason audition this past weekend. She had a great time. (It was nice to be on the other side this year!!) She gave a campus tour and talked so much to parents and perspective students that she could barely talk Saturday night.
Thank you for that. D received an email saying they “just started” reviewing the Dancewave video and will be sending decisions soon, and that they try to send them with or after academic admission. My guess is that was a gentle put off based on others being accepted. C’est la vie. ?
