I wld tend to think that if you received a financial aid package you have been admitted. It all this confusion with admissions and financial aid is starting to make me think so I really want to deal with a university that is treating applicants in this manner. It’s not right good luck to all

We have a son trying to decide between Syracuse and Miami for Architecture school.
Would love anyone’s input on these two schools. Obviously the weather is different. Syracuse did give him much more merit money than UM but we are trying to let him choose the school based on the merits of the schools. But love anyone’s advice.
syracuse’s architecture school is a hard option to eliminate. It is top ranked, beautiful campus,and fairly close to all the nyc opportunities! plus, ik money is not everything but more merit from a more recognizable program seems like a very good choice for me!

They wouldn’t package your aid award if you got rejected or waitlisted so I’m pretty sure that you are! Well at least that’s how I think of it lol.

@Jacques34 Maybe they’re saving the best for last! Not sure why it’s taking so long. My son is currently a sophomore at ‘Cuse and they have been very responsive and engaged to date. The pandemic had an impact on students deferring this past year with both freshmen and upper classmen. They’ve probably been overwhelmed with the test optional interests too in this application cycle. Good luck!

Has anyone received a decent financial aid package? I appealed the decision but am not optimistic.
Nope…left us about $49k out of pocket. Not sure if we’re giving to bother to appeal at this point.

I did a appeal and have to sent in so much. All I got was a additional 1,000. Everything helps but a 1,000 on their costs is nothing. Not sure it was worth even doing. Good luck though. You never know
Wow, that’s crazy and disappointing. They ask for so much information. We are preparing to move on. No school is worth $300K. My kid has been accepted to other good schools with sizable merit aid. I’ll report back on their response.
