Were any accepted students also notified that they were accepted into Renee Crown Honors? Not sure if that still comes with acceptance letter or if they are doing things differently this year.
@Jacques34 i haven’t heard either yet LMAO we’re in this together
you right lets keep holding on! its not over till its over
good question.
the application to apply, which anyone can fill out, is currently live and online.
decisions are scheduled to be released a week before commitment day.
have read that those who earned a specific scholarship automatically are part of the honors college. might be leadership scholars who are also admitted into honors college upon initial acceptance. might be other awards too. info is not easy to uncover.
Has anybody received financial aid reward yet?
We got ours. D was accepted 3/31, financial award posted yesterday.
I was accepted on 3/19 and I am yet to get mine. Hopefully I get it soon.
forgive me if this is a question i should ask elsewhere or if a similar one has been answered, i’m rather new to this website.
i applied with my first choice major being acting, but i missed the deadline to prescreen due to personal matters. i was contacted about other major choices, and i chose philosophy and social work. i received my acceptance notif last week but i was accepted into the CRS major which is… puzzling, to say the least. it’s not all that bad, i could just switch if i attended, i’m just curious as to what that’s all about. anybody know ?
they most probably thought you were a better fit for that major - and yes, it would be easy to switch as it is in cas
If Cuse wanted a student but could not directly admit them, would it be better to be waitlisted to your first choice school/major or accepted to a school/major you didn’t pick?
admissions works in mysterious ways…
I just have a couple of questions that I thought you might be able to answer since your son is in the aerospace program at Syracuse.
(1) Are the students guaranteed a spot in the aerospace program or are they actually admitted as first year engineering students that later apply for a spot in the actual major?
(2) What do you think of the engineering facilities and labs?
(3) What has your son’s experiences been in terms of finding internships/co-ops?
Any feedback you could give me would be very much appreciated.
My husband and son just visited Purdue and were blown away by the campus and job placement information, but there is always the unknown of whether or not he will actually be able to get into his intended major. Syracuse is offering great aid for freshman year which definitely makes it a contender, but I’m a bit worried that a good chunk of it will disappear once my oldest graduates from college and our EFC doubles. Just so much to consider!
@Jacques34 How you holding up? Any progress??
Hey do they only release FA on fridays? Still do not have mine
still no email yet but ima still hold strong for this upcoming week
Anyone here commit and submit the enrollment deposit yet? Do you know when you get your own cuse email?
My older daughter graduated as an aerospace engineer from UTexas-Austin. Her final choices were Purdue and UT austin. Purdue has one of the best aerospace engineering programs, but she chose UT as the campus is much nicer and located in a city vs purdue being in the middle of farmland. I graduated from SU, way back and loved the school and campus. I was in the engineering program for 2yrs before I switched majors to finance. As a SU alum, I’m saddened to say, that SU’s aerospace engineering program is far behind Purdue. Your son is almost guaranteed a job if he graduates from Purdue, not sure about SU. Purdue is a land-grant university and the cost is ~$25k less than SU. My younger D, was just accepted (3/31) into the school of engineering (civil) and will hopefully be going there this fall… IF SU ever notifies us how much we will be getting in grants/aid.
I hope this helps.
Hey guys! I was accepted two weeks ago and received VERY little financial aid ( around 20k) but I’m low-income which makes SU impossible for me to attend. Are financial aid packages finalized and is there any way for me to get additional aid besides loans? I just wanted to know before turning down my seat so other applicants have a higher chance of getting off the waitlist.
it is possible to appeal your aid package - reach out to your aid counselor to discuss that.
What should I do if I still haven’t received my financial aid? I’m running out of time and I still may need time to appeal. I’ve called and gotten nowhere in 3 weeks. Should I go to drop in hours at the office when I visit?
