Where does it say if you received any merit-based scholarships?
our letter is silent on merit. Does that mean none? or is it located somewhere else?
My daughter is at work till 10, but asked us to check for her. I am glad we did! She is very happy, excited, and relieved. Accepted into Maxwell; high stats, lots of ECs and leadership, strong volunteer work and essay, lots of demonstrated interest.
I am relieved, happy, and gratefulā¦and honestly, just glad itās over! Applied almost six months ago and the wait has been rough the past couple weeks. Good luck to everyone wherever you wind up!

Can you see scholarships in MySlice? My son cannot login to the applicant portal (password not working) and canāt reset it.
Son was accepted! OOS Newhouse with digital journalism planned major and $32,000 presidential leadership merit award per year! Iām in shock about the merit because I knew that theyāre pretty stingy normally. He is a very high stats kid with sports and leadership. He is also a double legacy between me (undergrad) and my mother (Grad school) but I donāt know if that factored in at all.

For all the discussion and confusion about MySlice, ours has not changed since we set it up months ago. So, I donāt think you can see anything there yet, unfortunately. Admissions portal says,
"MySlice is a separate online portal used to complete important tasks related to applying for financial aid and viewing your aid award. If you applied for need-based aid, you will be contacted by the Office of Financial Aid regarding any aid for which you may have applied. Until then, no information will be posted in MySlice.
Merit scholarships (if awarded) are noted in the admission decision letter."

Did an email go out, or do you just need to check the application portal (not MySlice)?
So daughter applied to Newhouse and didnāt give a backup. She just heard that she was accepted into a SVA, no mention of Newhouse. Is this common? They just assign a school?

3.5 uw GPA (donāt know what it is weighted). Tons of honors and APs. But sheās been writing for newspapers since Sophomore year, published in national magazine, taken college courses in the field already.
My son with similar stats and same major was waitlisted as well. Visited twice, sat in on a class and sent a follow-up email after as well.

Back when I went to Newhouse this was common. Kids who donāt get a spot major in communication in SVA instead of Newhouse. Some try to transfer into Newhouse sophomore year and some just stay in VPA and say they majored in communication at Syracuse.
