To those that were offered 26K - can you share your majors and stats? My son’s first choice is Syracuse and after a merit appeal, only received $5K more. $26K more would actually make this school doable for him. Would be helpful to know if your kids stats are much higher.
Congrats!
Yes, same. Whitman/Finance major…got the Orange Distinction Award for $24,592. My kid’s stats aren’t amazing - 4.0 weighted.
Thanks for the info! My son received 15K already, that extra 10K might just be enough to make it possible so if they are fishing, I wish they’d fish over here!
My son received it today too! Same Whitman and wasn’t offered anything before. Definitely threw us for a loop! As if this yr hasn’t been nutty enough😜
Yes Whitman finance major. Test optional 3.9 weighted gpa and 4.3 weighted senior year first semester
@offshegoes11 what is this merit appeal form?! My S24 is an ED admit to Whitman/Newhouse and we were happy to receive decent merit but not $25K. We are thankful as we know they really didn’t need to give anything for an ED student but it’s a little deflating when he has a classmate friend who was admitted RD and offered more merit despite having lower stats and ECs, and a cousin who was just offered that $25K for Whitman last week. I wonder if it’s possible to ask if they would consider throwig some more merit my son’s way if the kids they’re throwing money at don’t accept!
The same happened with my student, an ED Whitman/Newhouse dual enrollee. He did submit a merit appeal for consideration, but it was declined. Go figure. Your student needs to email their admission rep (see the Admission Portal for that individual) and the rep will send a link to request an appeal. Basically, a text box to state your request.
Could you please share your son’s stats? I’m trying to figure out whether it’s worth my D24 applying. Thank you!
