Any insight on regular decision notification date?
It usually starts the 3rd week in March and they usually release in weekly waves unless that has changed from when my older child applied in 2022. I have a 2nd senior now awaiting regular decision from Syracuse.
We just got an email from Syracuse asking for more information being needed for Financial Aid. They are the first college that has asked for this info before acceptance letters have gone out but then again, we applied early to most schools. Is this standard practice at Syracuse? Did anyone else get a FA request?
I have not so far for this D25, but we did get the same request for my D22 when she applied. I think we did not this time because we had all of our financials in ahead of time and the extra paperwork I remember them asking for had already been uploaded in IDOC this year for other EA schools she applied to…so I am thinking they pulled the needed info from there.
I will say D22 was admitted, whether or not the request for additional financial docs was a foreshadowing clue, I have not the slightest idea. I never even thought about it at the time. Good luck!
Thanks! They were asking for a 2023 Tax Transcript and we had to sign a parent form. We filled out and submitted everything for FAFSA & the CSS Profile so I was surprised there was more we had to do. Hoping it is a good omen! Crossing fingers D25 gets in. It’s a top three choice for him but he applied in Sports Management which is very competitive.
We got it as well.
I did see that my D25 got a note in her portal to add me and her dad to her Financial portal, some parent form to invite us? We did it, but no updates since then. Is that one of the forms you are talking about? We havent gotten anything about 2023 taxes. When my D22 applied they wanted a million extra forms from us. Maybe thtas why they do not need additional now…lol. This is one of my daughter’s top choices as well. She applied for architecture. We are also alumni.
Yes, that is the parent form I was talking about. All likely just standard procedure…but one can hope!
Thank you for posting this! Apparently my son also received the email, but did not let us know that we needed to provide documentation.
My son got the same email, but didn’t tell me about it for a week. I called and they said “there was a request there that is no longer needed.” Did this happen to anyone else ?
Has a decision notification dare been announced?
I don’t believe so, but based on the last couple of years, my son and I predict it will be 3/21.
If you don’t submit the requested financial aid docs SU requests will an RD decision still be given?
D25 applied RD to Syracuse but it has fallen significantly down on her list after other acceptances/merit. We did submit a FAFSA but did not complete a CSS profile and frankly, don’t want to spend the time or $ creating one as we are full pay and won’t qualify for need based aid. I do think my daughter would still like a decison on the merits of the application because you never know, so would failing to supplement the requested financial aid docs hinder a decision? Should I advise her to email Financial Aid and request her application be considered without the need for need-based financial aid?
I think so too. The CSS says awards to be given that day and all accepted sutdent events are scheduled for after that date. Still seems so long to wait but getting there!
Last year it was March 22
Was it all on the same day or do they still release in waves on Fridays in March? I have read a few people got decisions last Friday, there will most likely be a few this week and next, but majority usually come out the 3rd Friday of the month, so my best guess is the 21st… My older daughter applied 3 years ago and this was how it was done. My D25 is currently waiting patiently…
I had not heard some decisions came oujt last Friday! Who is getting decisions on Fridays? Is it by major, school and are they all acceptances and/or rejections too?
No idea. I just saw one of those college advisor people on tik tok say some of his clients reported getting their decisions this past Friday which was a surprise, but not very many and he thinks majority will come out March 21st if he had to guess but will probably drop in small batches possibly each Friday before that. I also saw people commenting under that they were people that indeed got decisions.
