TAMU Class of 2023 - Admission Decisions/Discussion

@scaredfor4 I know this probably won’t help. But if it’s any consolation, you are not alone. Competition this year has been so fierce, quite a few of us posting here are in the same boat as you. Many (not all) of us here, me included, “bleed maroon” and the very thought of our son or daughter NOT attending A&M can manifest some very bad physical responses - stomach aches, losing sleep, can’t do well at work, all of these and more. I’ve become a veritable curmudgeon, and not a pleasant fellow to be around . . . . LOL. So please know, I’m right there with you, losing sleep right now . . . ugh. Good luck though, and continue to keep your fingers crossed (and toes).

@ninamoore19 - folks on this thread have reported Visualization is full. I called our regional prospective students office and they confirmed it.

Looks like a Blinn Team offer this morning. Tough decision for my son. Weighing good scholarship offers elsewhere. Good luck to everyone. We are in Illinois where we have a similar issue with a flagship state school with really stringent admissions (not to mention an annoyingly high in-state tuition rate). Backup plans are a must!!

When did you receive your admission decision: today (Blinn)

Congratulations, @drm309! My son would give his eye-teeth for that offer!!

My AIS updated this morning! I am being considered for TEAM. What now?

Here’s what it said:

Texas A&M University receives more applications from high achieving, academically prepared applicants than we can accommodate in the freshman class. The full time admission limits on the College Station campus have been reached and no additional offers will be extended; however, in recognition of your academic and personal achievements, we are pleased to inform you of your qualification for admission to Texas A&M’s Blinn TEAM program.

Blinn TEAM is a collaborative, co-enrollment partnership between Texas A&M and Blinn College, allowing the admission of hundreds of academically prepared students like yourself into the Texas A&M freshman class. Participating students are enrolled at Texas A&M and Blinn and enjoy most of the privileges afforded a Texas A&M student (on-campus housing, sports passes, student services and activities, sorority/fraternity eligibility). Visit Blinn TEAM for more information.

If you would like to be considered for Blinn TEAM please indicate your interest below.

Congrats @drm309 and @teamaggiehan !!! Fingers crossed for the rest of us–the wait is almost over, either way. Had a good conversation yesterday with my son-- now that the reality of a rejection is becoming more ‘real’, he is weighing his other options: PSU, ASU, Oregon and Tech. Not too shabby in our eyes, but to a 17 year old…well…y’all know what I’m talking about! Sending GOOD VIBES !!!

I as well got a Blinn TEAM offer and clicked “Yes.” When should my Howdy update?

What does it mean that I’m also being “considered for TEAM”? Are they reviewing my application again. LOL

BTW nothing showed up in howdy. I had to check AIS. It showed 3 options- Yes, Maybe, and No. Here’s my stats:

When did you apply: 8/12
When did you get your UIN: 8/20
When did you receive your admission decision: ???

My son received a Blinn TEAM offer this morning. I don’t envy the decision he will have to make…several very good scholarship offers at other schools. I would love information on the pro’s & con’s of Blinn TEAM (anybody have any useful criticism of this program that they would warn others about?)

My daughter received Blinn Team this morning. Now will weigh her options. How hard is it to change majors with team? She applied under meteorology but not sure if that’s what she really wants to do. Congrats to everyone who has been offered team!

The wait is over for my son! Offered Blinn Team today after 7 months of waiting  Im confused as to how we know what program he received / Mays still shows as the major and economics as the second. Does anyone understand how we know which he would be in?

AIS updated not Howdy
Review Admit
2nd Qtr by A&M (non-ranking high school)
30 ACT
Mays/economics
Lots of ECs
Showcase Baseball
Part time Job

I can’t think anymore  lots of big decisions ahead!! Thank you all for the support and lots of luck to all on this journey.

I have a question, if someone Turns down their offer to Tamu, is that slot that they were offered no longer used or does it go to another person?

My son received a Blinn TEAM offer this morning and is thrilled! He’s a 4th generation Aggie. WHOOP!

So it sounds like everyone’s getting Blinn TEAM. Are you all admitted to TEAM or does it say you’re being considered for TEAM? In my AIS it says “You are being considered for TEAM”

CONGRATS to all Blinn Team that got offers this morning my son’s account still shows in review so with this news it just doesn’t look promising that he will get in or Blinn. It kind of sucks with all the hard work that he has done and (all the freshman’s waiting in this forum) that he is having a hard time getting into a Texas school. I know this doesn’t define him but the overall disappointment is still there I am very proud him and all of his accomplishments but I can’t imagine what he is thinking. We were offered CAP at UT but it wasn’t for him he has been admitted to (Iowa and Fordham University) but would like to go to a Texas College. Still waiting on Baylor and Texas Tech. We were really hoping on TAMU but again in Review means that there is still a chance. Congrats again to everyone !!.

I did not receive A Blinn team offer this morning, but many people that got in had similar scores as me so I am hoping I will hear back today or tomorrow. If I do not then I will be attending Baylor next year because most likely if I do not hear back soon I will get a PSA offer

@IT22379 Your son’s stats are very impressive, I am surprised he hasn’t received an offer. We are both in same boat, and it’s really hard sitting by and watching. I am positive your son will get an offer from a Texas school soon! When did he apply to Tech/Baylor?

@IT22379 I know how you feel. My daughter got a PSA offer in 2014 and was devastated. She declined that, stayed home for a year and transferred her sophomore year to A&M. That first year really did go by quickly. Two 16 week semesters and then she was preparing to go. She had a fantastic Aggie experience and graduated in Dec. 18. No one asks where you start, only where you finished.
