TAMU Class of 2023 - Admission Decisions/Discussion

Hi ! So my AIS still says complete and in review but I see that many people are getting Blinn Team. Congrats to everyone who has ! But I was just wondering if i haven’t gotten that yet, does this mean I have been rejected ? Or is there still a chance ?

@JaceyK We are in the same boat. BIMS and stats very similar. I guess it’s time to weigh our options. My daughter is set on TAMU one way or another but frustrating that all the hard work and doing the right thing doesn’t pay off for all of them.

Congrats to all Team offers. When it says it’s reviewing you once you click yes, admissions does look at it again but if slots are still available then high probability you will see the update to 6 tabs in the next day or two. You can look in hiwdy under manage application and it should show Team and then a major I believe.

If someone declines their spot, another spot does not open. They are sending out more offers than what will be accepted. Once Blinn Team is full, even if offered team you will not get it. So don’t dilly dally.

There have been numerous links on this thread for what team is and what majors participate. I’m on my phone so won’t go search myself, but go back about 2 weeks on this thread and find it or google it and it will pull up tons of info. Time to learn how to research. Then come back with specific questions and whoever has the answer will be happy to help.

Again congrats y’all. The stats that got team this year are crazy good and last year would have been full admit most likely. Head up. Tamu is a great university but it’s not the only university.

Hugs and happy Valentine’s Day!!!

Should more blinn team offers be released throughout the weekend?

@txblondy what are your daughter’s stats? @aggiedreamin daughter is also in same boat with us (re: BIMS).

Any gateway offers yet?

@Jaceyk thanks and good luck to you my son applied to Baylor early December so he wont find out till April he just recently applied to Tech because were running out of Texas school option that he wanted to go to. He wants the college experience (Academics, Sports, Clubs) he wants the DIV1 college community type school. We are looking at TCU as well but its to close to where we live.

I also received a Blinn Team offer today, and clicked yes right away. Does this mean I will get Blinn team? Or that I will be in review again for Blinn Team? Also if my howdy updates to 6 tabs, does this mean I am for sure in Blinn Team and going to A&M?

I’m trying to stay as hopeful as possible. My SAT was an 1120 I’m 11% with 2 nice LORs
Plenty of DC/AP. Tennis/Golf captain, debate captain, class president, stuco vp, NHS, NTHS, NAHS, YIP, 500 hrs of volunteer work etc so I hope these had an impact on the process. I understand that many suffer from mental health issues but I wrote that in my essay as well.

@AllAggieFamily Thank you.

@IT22379 my son was accepted to Baylor yesterday so hopefully you won’t have to wait until April. It’s ironic because I really thought he had a better chance at a&m than Baylor. we’re still waiting for a&m…

My SAT was a 1320 and A&M ranked me in first quarter, lots of leadership & internships etc - similar to stats of those with blinn team offers this morning. Hoping I hear back soon! No one has received blinn team offers in my area yet so I’m wondering if they section off those waves

So I talked to my recruiter and he said that the “you are being considered for blinn team” is just a formality and to hang tight! Congrats to all of the others that got their offers, and hopefully more will be sent out tomorrow and the rest of the day! Hang in there everyone!!

Still in review here too. 1st quarter ACT 28. Waiting ~X(

Although we don’t bleed maroon, A&M has been her dream school for as long as I can remember. Hindsight being 20/20, I wish we had insisted that she take the SAT again to add the 10 extra points; little did we know. She planned to go the Animal Science - Science route so that she could apply to Veterinary School and also still have the option for Medical School. Also, she planned to sign up for honors Animal Science at NSC. Not sure if all of this is still possible with Blinn. We went ahead and chose “yes” but will have to do some research even with the links provided by the wonderful Aggiemomhelp and Thelma, She has been accepted into Animal Science at LSU and into their Ogden Honors College. We are just short of in-state tuition there with her scholarships but still waiting on the departmental scholarship. Also accepted into TTU Animal Science with substantial scholarships and might get a couple more and into their Honors College as well. Thank God for plan B and C. Will visit both LSU and Tech next week. She is wanting LSU and her Dad and I want Tech but at the same time it is 9 hours away while LSU is 4 hours. Anyway, so disappointing. She is a kid that chooses to be happy and while she is disappointed, she is ok with it and like one of the moms on this forum posted the other day, "they will bloom where planted. I guess the next step is to talk to an A&M advisor to ask if it is absolutely set in stone that she has to do 45 hours at Blinn and how her AP credits might count and the big one being whether her chosen track will be compromised. God bless you all!

Also I’m a little disappointed after being accepted into other schools honors programs (ACU, TTU, TXST, UofH, UNT, TCU) with scholarships and thought I would be a full admit, but Blinn Team is a great option!

Also quick question, if you have a lot of ap credits (I currently have 21 hours without taking my exams for this year), does that count towards Blinn or anything??

Congrats to everyone who received Blinn Team!
Unfortunately I still have not received a decision and my app is still in review. I’m going to get in contact with my recruiter sometime today or tomorrow.
Does anyone know if more Blinn team offers will come out tomorrow? Saturday?
Review admits from my school have not heard a peep from A&M. I go to a top-ranked school in Texas.
Quick stats: UW GPA 3.45, ACT 28, Ranked Q2 by A&M, multiple APs

Good luck to everyone.
