@teamaggiehan “considered” for Blinn TEAM is the wording on my son’s.
@JaceyK and @AggieDreamin Here’s what I know of my daughters stats She’s very independent so I don’t always know the details…
When did you apply: September
When did you get your UIN: September
When did you receive your admission decision: today In Review
Are you an Auto-admit or Academic Admit or Review Admit: Review
Major/College of Choice: BIMS with Biology 2nd choice
Class Rank: 16% (1st qtr)
GPA: High but not sure of #
SAT (with Sub Scores): 1300
ACT (with Sub Scores): N/A
Good amount of EC’s. Lots of Volunteer (250+hours) Had part time job and has her little side business in photography. Fair amount of AP Great Essay - but don’t we all think that? Large Competitive school - but again we all think that.
Her counselor told her way back that she should hear back in Nov or Dec. Ha! I think the joke is on all of us because this year seems to be a completely different world.
Daughter got offered TEAM this morning! Does anyone know how long it takes to hear back if she has been accepted or not?
if I did not receive a team offer yet while many people have does this mean I most likely got psa?
@Sydhendershot - no one can say what it means exactly. But as a parent of someone still waiting - with each offer that goes out - there are fewer offers remaining.
Still quite a few well qualified applicants in my opinion - I wish I knew what their selection criteria is. Each officer’s opinions can vary greatly so I wonder how they truly grade each applicant - I am wondering if more than one officer looks at each applicant in order received, and then they average the grade? And I see quite a few biology/BIMS review majors as last standing - I find it hard to believe they don’t look at majors with this in mind. I know auto/academic admits got in, but that’s a given unless you’re engineering/Mays.
@treehugger2023 - https://tap.tamu.edu/Programs/TEAM Read the terms and conditions. Basically - they can count for Blinn credit.
I second that! I have 19 hours so I’d love to know if these can help me finish the Blinn Team Program faster!
^ that was in response to @treehugger2023
@treehugger2023 AP credit does not need to be accepted yet by your student. You’ll need to wait until they are at TAMU and speak with advisor on what to accept credit for or not. They have until senior year to accept those credits. Always best to wait it out unless you need one as a prereq for another course. DC credit automatically goes on transcript.
@boundco2019 It appears to take a day or two. Once it’s full, it’s full but since it seems like quite a bit were released today, you’ll be fine if you clicked yes. Sounds like just a formality but I’m not certain of that.
For those that haven’t received TEAM offer yet, I wish I knew if more were coming out. But until you get a decision of any kind, it’s not over! So hang tight and take a breath. Oh and eat some chocolate… it’s Valentine’s Day!
FYI AP credit DOES NOT count towards the required credits. They have to be gradeable earned credit unless they’ve changed it for TEAM (which good Lord, things are changing all the dang time).
I just popped into that link above and now editing my post. You have to have certain Blinn credits and TAMU credits, so no to the AP credits for sure.
ALSO, remember, doing TEAM, you can apply transfer to TAMU once you meet the requirements for your intended major. Some as low as 24 gradeable credits with 2 maths and a science etc. And then meet required GPA (which doesn’t guarantee you anything just makes you eligible).
All this to say, TEAM does not have to mean 2 years, it can be one but AP credit doesn’t count towards those credits… capiche?
Would dual credit hours help with TEAM?
My daughter got offered TEAM this morning as well. Congrats to all!
Here are her stats:
When did you apply: 7/8/18 (it is rumored early application counts)

GPA: 3.98
100+ Volunteer hours

PALS
6 AP & 4 Dual Credit classes
the first non-auto from my school just got TEAM
@GabrielTamez - this is what the TEAM terms and conditions state -
Previously Earned Credits Any college level credits accepted by TAMU that were earned by a student prior to beginning the TEAM program shall apply toward the Blinn College 45 credit hour requirement.
These include credits resulting from transfer, dual/concurrent enrollment, Advanced Placement (AP), College Level Examination Program (CLEP), International Baccalaureate (IB), SAT II Subject Tests, or other recognized means by which credit is awarded by examination.
The use and application of these credits will be determined by the student’s eventual degree program.
After a student begins the TEAM program only credits earned from Blinn College will count toward the Blinn College 45 credit hour requirement.
Son was offered TEAM like many on here this morning. And while he is happy to get the offer, he’s still a bit bummed because he has been talking to a coach about coming there for his sport and that’s the one thing you can not do with Blinn Team. He clicked the YES button, but still a lot to consider. He has other offers, but none that he said “feel like A&M.” Even though my husband and I are both Aggies, we have encouraged him to look at other schools because it has changed so much since we were there. But, I also told him maybe a year of growth in his sport with a club team will be better for him in the long run. So we will keep discussing his options for now.
Congrats to all those receiving offers and chin up to those still waiting to hear something. Have faith that all things happen for a reason!
Here are his stats:
When did you apply: July 14
When did you get your UIN: July 17
When did you receive your admission decision: February 14
Are you an Auto-admit or Academic Admit or Review Admit: Review
Major/College of Choice: Animal Science
Class Rank: 1Q
SAT (with Sub Scores): 1180 (610 Writing, 570 Math)
Unweighted GPA: 3.7
Extras/Honors: 18 DC hours, 4 years marching band with All-Region honors, 4 years jazz band with 2 years All-Region honors, 4 years FFA (3 years chapter and district officer), 4 years track (Regional qualifier), 2 year club track (National qualifier), German Club (1 year officer), NHS, plus 100+ volunteer hours.
so @BlueBayouAZ AP credit will count based on what you found. I’ve always heard differently but maybe that’s for change of major… have to have graded hours. Maybe that’s my confusion.
Keep in mind though for those with AP credit… talk to advisor before accepting them!!! Once you accept them, they are on your transcript. This could cause issues later if you want to change major but have too many credits.
Still no offer on our end…Has anyone received a gateway offer? Just wondering if those are trickling out yet. My husband passed away Junior year…holding out hope they could offer him gateway as he wrote about it on his essay.
@twinmom123 Sorry to hear about your husband passing. I do believe the gateway program is so beneficial to many students who are either first gen or need additional support to gain experience for success during the freshman transition. Your son’s tragic experience of losing a parent could be viewed as needing this program assuming his stats can support he’s ready/capable. Please keep us posted! I pray you guys get some good news soon.
@AggieMomhelp if Blinn Team went out then does this mean that the rest are PSA ? My AIS still says complete and in review so is there still a chance of me getting in ?
