TAMU Class of 2023 - Admission Decisions/Discussion

@AggieMomhelp if you go Team are you locked into your major or is there an opportunity to change?

Got TEAM this morning
honestly my SAT wasn’t great but my EC’s and letters were good and I am so active in my school.Lots of leadership rolls - state athlete 4 years and moved into top 10% this semester :(
I am going to consider it but doubt I’ll take it - I am leaning toward Galveston. I’d rather be full admit after a year than go to Blinn - I already have 27 DC hours and a 4.0 - so I’m pretty sure it would be hard for me to find the required 45 hours. I visited the Galveston campus this summer and loved it :).

GOT OFFERED TEAM!!! So excited!!!

@nervoussenior12356 I wish I had an answer. All I do know is if you don’t have a decision yet, then there’s always hope. So hang onto that! Have a plan of action for if you do not hear what you want to hear. It’s truly just one year and let me tell you, it freaking flies by. It’s insane.

@dzienius So to my understanding, not all major participate in team. Are you wanting to change it now or when you plan on transferring to TAMU? What is your major now and what are you wanting to switch to?

@UTmom2020 your daughter has almost exact same stats as my son! Congratulations! Question: is your daughter majoring in Biomedical Sciences (BIMS)? Or just Biology? My son was ranked 13% (127/931) with 29 ACT (28 Math/28 English/29 Science/32 Reading) - 1) BIMS 2) Public Health

It is just like being at A&M. They make it very clear you ARE an aggie. You have all the same opportunities as a full time, you can only take 6 hrs at A&M and the rest at the Rellis campus which is just TEAM stidents. My son is doing it now and really likes everything about it. My other son just received his offer this morning.

Still in Review, as well. ACT 29, GPA=3.8, Major: Kinesiology. Do Blinn Team offers usually come out before or after Non-Auto admits? And has anyone been accepted in Kinesiology major?

My AIS had a countdown and the website then ‘shut off’. It is now saying the site is under maintenance ? What could this mean? Are they adding more decisions?

Are all TEAM students assigned a certain campus or can they choose between Rellis and Bryan?

Mine did the same thing.

@AggieMomhelp she applied under the meteorology major which is in the college of geosciences but after attending a geoX camp she’s not sure if it’s a good fit. She is very interested in psychology and possibly business. She already picked her dorm at Texas State and there she could do anything. My fear is that she won’t have as many options at TAMU due to the competitiveness.

@texasag Congrats to your son! My daughter also got offered TEAM this morning and is thrilled! A couple of quick questions for you (and anyone else with TEAM experience): Are all of the TEAM classes going to be on the new RELLIS campus? Also, where are the best places to live for TEAM if you don’t live on campus? I want my daughter to have quick access to a Blinn bus route. Thanks in advance for any insight:)

I know it is hard waiting for those who still don’t have answers. To be honest, my daughter’s scores and class rank seem to be right where all of you are and in some cases, hers are much lower: First Qtr, 1260 SAT, taken all AP/DC classes when available, lots of EC and leadership experience, she has been on multiple mission trips, and she has worked since she was 15. She attends a very large, competitive high school. Her brother is a Sophomore at A&M but he was an auto-admit so we were spared all of this excruciating wait-time. Best wishes to everyone. I have to think there are a lot more offers to come, based on all of the outstanding credentials I see being posted.

Texas TEA’s shows graduating high school students are increasing at a compound rate of 2.4% longitudinally (more recently 3.7%). The assumption Texas population increases limit the spots for Review is logical. However, the DARs, the one @blueBayouAZ references, shows historically 66% of enrolled TAMU students are in the top 10%: but, last year this dropped to 60%. Note of relatability, prior year DAR reports make a foot note that the data includes both College Station and Galveston: I didn’t find this note in the last two year DAR reports, but the year to year comparison seems like Galveston is included. Along with the drop from 66% to 60% Top 10% admits, the enrollment of full-time students increased by roughly 10% over historical averages. What does all this mean
the straight line is being in the top 10 or auto admit
otherwise, expect (hope and desire)
but don’t define yourself by the results.

So I got an offer to choose TEAM this morning
and it is my understanding that they will review me again for it. How long do I have to wait to hear an answer?

I got a 1320 on my SAT, I’m top 22% and I have a 4.0 weighted gpa.

I also did 3 years of JROTC, I am an eagle scout, I did high school lacrosse for 2 years, etc.

What are my chances?

CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE RECEIVING TAMU BLINN-TEAM OFFERS!! Whooooop!
Here’s to living the AGGIE LIFE IN AGGIELAND!!

It is a great program! Hard to believe that it has been exactly 2 years to the day since my Dear Daughter received her TAMU Blinn-TEAM offer! She is currently a Sophomore on Blinn-TEAM and is LOVING living the Aggie life in Aggieland!

I have a CC thread where I have discussed her experience on Blinn-TEAM that I will bump up for the benefit of everyone who is receiving the offer. I can mainly address the questions of the perception of Blinn-TEAM in Aggieland: you are a FULL Aggie except that you can’t play an NCAA sport for TAMU and you take some classes in a different building. NO ONE cares who takes classes at Blinn or for what reason!

Since my daughter is a Sophomore, (Freshman Class Fall 2017), she is in the last group to take classes at the Blinn Bryan campus, as all of the Blinn-TEAM students beginning with Freshman Fall 2018 take their Blinn Classes at the Rellis facility, so I can’t answer any questions about that facility. BUT there is also a CC thread by someone who is currently (Spring 2019) on Blinn-TEAM and taking classes at Rellis who has a lot of great info.

Please be very proud of your accomplishment and know that a Blinn-TEAM offer was made because TAMU admissions thinks that you have all of the academic preparation and potential to THRIVE at TAMU, it is simply a space issue. There is just not enough space to accommodate everyone who wants to be an Aggie. TAMU Admissions REALLY WANT YOU!! Just think of Blinn-TEAM as simply taking classes in a different building. No one in Aggieland thinks that Blinn-TEAM is a “less than” offer. The only people who think that are not in Aggieland and do not have all of the info.

The Blinn-TEAM of today is not the same Blinn-TEAM that it was even 7 years ago when my older Aggie daughter’s roommate at Callaway was on Blinn-TEAM. Back then, there were restrictions which have thankfully been changed, so that now the ONLY differences between Full and Blinn-TEAM admits are that Blinn-TEAM students can’t play an NCAA sport and they take some of their classes in a different building.

Congratulations to all! =D> :D/ =D>

Still nothing
I guess her ACT score is killing us. Top 15% 3.99 GPA tons of varied EC and Aggie LOR’s

All Blinn classes for TEAM are on Rellis campus. You won’t take any at the Bryan location when enrolled in team. As for where to live. I know they make it simple to catch a bus from TAMU to Rellis, but not sure what bus routes off campus have the Rellis route on it. There are sooooo many places to live off campus. And a lot are near TAMU campus, as in across the street. So check those out. You’ll want the students to be close to the action. Accessibility to Rellis shouldn’t be an issue.

As for the additional review. By offering you this option, they are saying this is the best they can offer you. Once you accept and if there’s still room, then you’ll be admitted. Sounded like more of a formality unless you wait too long to click that yes button!

@texantexantexan tag me and tell me your application date and what major applied 1st and 2nd pls. Mays was 1st, yes?

All your stuff has to be sent to Blinn from A&M and once they process it, your HOWDY will update. Takes a few days.

Congrats!!

@dzienius Would you please list your daughter’s stats?

Date Applied

Thanks

Question - is there is time bomb on TEAM Blinn offers? Meaning if they don’t respond within a certain amount of time, do they move on with offers?
