@agmom1 last year when my son applied his class rank was 38% with an SAT of 1280. I can’t re,ember his sub scores for the sat but he got a 30 on the math portion of the ACT. He was offered PSA which he declined. Because of his high math score, he applied and was admitted to the engineering acedemy in Brenham. He should transition to CS full time fall 2019. So based on our experience your daughter will most likely be offered the PSA option.
@LBW1921 Did your son just get the offer today or did he get it yesterday and just got full acceptance today?
Good morning! Did anyone wake up to TEAM offers? Nothing for us, hoping they just haven’t sent out another batch yet!
@LBW1921 they will show up in howdy you will have 3 addition options at the top ( Home , Applicat, Mu Howdy ) and then 3 others.
@nervoustamumommy same here…still in review.
same here still in review
@LBW1921 I think you state the truth. Your son is co-enrolled at both institutions. It’s a great program and nothing to be ashamed of. A friend of my son was offered Blinn Team last year and was reluctant to take it. I displayed my Aggie ring to him and asked him if he could tell how many Blinn hours I took. He smiled and got the message, took the offer, pledged a fraternity and living on campus.
He received TEAM offer yesterday.
@AggieMomhelp not that its random, but that there isn’t a set group of people they are looking to accept, talking to my college counselors they have said they admitted always have a wide range of test scores,GPA,etc
@LBW1921 it on the Howdy portal near the top
quick question so I have been reading about Gateway which is a 5 week summer program that you take on campus and stay on campus still looking how they determine what classes to take and the GPA requirements to pass but from what I have been reading when you pass its an automatic admit to the fall, but looks like if you get into the Fall its for General Studies. My son wants to be an Actuarial so he trying to do Mathematics and the Mays Business School. So my question is does this mean as a freshman he has to do General Studies and re apply to mays on his Sophmore year for undergraduate studies?
my son is still in review
applied in sept
construction science
3.8 GPA
SAT low at 1180
top 25%
marching band, golf, NHS, Stem, FFA, Soccer
still in review
my question is- how often do they notify is it once in the morning- or do I need to continue checking every hour like I have for the last few days (LOL)
@CMOMof2 LOL I have been checking everyday for the last 2 months. I was told by admission that they only post at night around midnight and if its still in review in the morning not to check till the next day, but I check anyway
@IT22379 Mays is already full so he will most likely have to transfer in. It is very very competitive to do so. Get the basics out of the way his freshman year and get all As…
@CMOMof2 my recollection from last year is they released offers in the morning after loading the system the day before. It was usually on a Friday.
@trinley Yeah I heard about Mays and his second was Science and Mathematics hopefully if he is accepted that he can at least do that he is currently doing stats now and has multiple APs that he has already passed one being Calculus.
@LBW1921 He is a full fledged Aggie! My son accepted Blinn Team Engineering last year. He is in his second semester at the Reillis campus and loves it! He takes 2 classes at A&M and 3 at the Reillis campus. His classes are taught by A&M professors and the classes are smaller. He attends all the football/basketball games, as well as other A&M activities. We are currently waiting to see if my daughter is accepted to A&M. I am hoping she gets Blinn Team. It has really saved us alot of money.
@trinley I was on last years thread with you . My son accepted Blinn Team Engineering. Currently, my daughter is waiting to hear if she has been accepted to A&M Engineering (or Blinn Team). We followed your thread from last year, because she has the same acronyms as your son had - BS-CVEN-GCE. My son’s had changed and that’s how we knew he was getting Blinn team. Did those acronyms mean anything for your son? Or is it just wishful thinking? Did he get in and if he didn’t, did he take another path to get into A&M. I’m worried by daughter probably isn’t getting an offer and would welcome any advice. Thanks!
@GManmom123 yes I remember r! My son was offered PSA so it was wishful, thinking on our part. He enrolled in the Engineering Academy in Brenham. He takes the engineering class from TAMU and the rest from Blinn. He got a sports pass and even went to Fish Camp. I have a whole thread on it that I started last year. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/texas-m-university/2062343-engineering-academies.html#latest
Forgive me if already answered.
At this stage of the game, if my son is still in review this morning, does this mean he is only eligible to see either a TEAM or PSA offer? The campus at TAMU CS is full and complete?
