@Thelma2

I applied in October and I chose Business admin as my 1st and computer science as my 2nd

My daughter has been in review since Dec. She changed her major 3 weeks ago to Animal Science but it never referenced it changing.
I realize most full admits have more than likely been offered but wondering if Gateway offers have been made yet? We’re losing hope so applied to Blinn last week. Heard back immediately but still waiting on A&M. What do you think her chances are for any offer from TAMU?

When did you apply: 8/24
When did you get your UIN: 8/28
When did you receive your admission decision: N/A
Are you an Auto-admit or Academic Admit or Review Admit: I think was placed in Review Dec
Major/College of Choice: Business/communication
Class Rank: 175/439
SAT (with Sub Scores) 1130

Sorry if I misread, but I am confused. I see that people are saying full admission offers are full but does this mean no more will be sent out and now only alternative decisions are being sent out? Will there still be another wave? Last year people with worse stats than I have got in as a full admit, but now I am worried I might not even make TEAM because my app still says complete and in review .

Does anybody know what this means? BS-CVN-GCE My daughter applied to Civil Engineering. Is this Civil Engineering at Galveston?

Might be a dumb question but is gateway seen as more competitive then the Blinn Team? I know that less people are offered it than team but are the stats of the applicants offered it higher than those offered team?

@JaceyK - I too have a son who is heading to HS next year, also wanting eng. He himself has stated he won’t even apply if he isn’t in auto admit. He doesn’t want to go through what his brother has. sigh. So, like you said
pressure is on
ugh. Hanging in there with you!

@madeline116 from my understanding gateway is all wild cards

6 tabs this morning, about 24 hrs after Blinn Team offer. Good luck to all. This is a crazy process.

I have six tabs as well, 24hrs after accepting my Blinn TEAM offer

@noah4151 do you mean it’s random? I’m not folllowing what you mean by wild card.

@madeline116 From what I can tell, Gateway is kind of an outlier admission pathway. Last year the daughter of a friend of mine was top 11%, she missed top 10 by 2 students. But her SAT was low, somewhere in the 1100’s. She was offered gateway, made her grades and is full time A&M student. I think Gateway is used for situations like these or other outliers like a particular hardship that the applicant experienced. TAMU is pretty coy when explaining the program.

Apologies if this has been discussed
my son received and accepted Blinn TEAM yesterday and I’m wondering about the “six tabs”. Those will be in Howdy or AIS? If they are in Howdy, did AIS still say "being considered for Blinn TEAM? Once you have the six tabs, are you able to take further action (housing) using those tabs? Thanks!

@psalms7510 the six tabs will be in howdy, at the very top. Before you’re accepted, you only have three. If you get six tabs it’s a telltale sign that you’ll be accepted, even if nothing has changed in AIS yet.

@psalms7510 congrats! My son also accepted the Team offer yesterday morning. Today he has 6 tabs on Howdy but AIS says he’s “still being considered for Team.” Hope that helps.

@Thelma2 and @AggieMomhelp do you know if he can transfer via a pathway agreement to Economics from BT? He’s nervous about the 3.8 requirement for a transfer to Mays. I want him to understand the options and requirements so he can move forward. Thank you so much for your time and knowledge. What a blessing you have been over the past 7 months.

@AggieMomhelp - I’m going to assume by “wild card” he/she means that there doesn’t seem to be an obvious clear pattern. Based on the non-scientific, small sample of self reported gateway offers here from the past two years - there is not a clear pattern based on stats alone. The only thing I see is more extreme - but even that isn’t universal. By extremes I mean either rank lower/scores higher or rank high/scores lower. But not real -real low or real high. Around the edges of the middle 50%.
25th- 75th Percentile
SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing 570-670
SAT Math 570- 690
ACT Composite 25-30

But the sample is so small and we don’t know what else is in the applicants application so it is really not something we know is true. There has been talk that “hardships” play a role in getting gateway - but people who have reported gateway on these forums do not necessarily mention hardships.

My son was accepted to Blinn Team this morning.? Might be a strange question but when family asks where he’s going do we say Blinn or A&M?

Where do I look for these 6 tabs?
