TAMU Class of 2023 - Admission Decisions/Discussion

I would add that you should also check Tarleton for nursing. Tarleton is also an A&M system school, which may help with transferring on down the line.

I have young relative in pre-nursing at UT-Tyler, apparently a strong school in that field. UTA definitely very well known also.

Just checked - got a BlinnTEAM offer! On a Wednesday before 7am!

congrats @mko1121 !

Congratulations @mko1121

Question? I’m a little confused if someone can shed some light. Admissions told me they do rolling admission which I presume the order of when you applied or when all your papers are in. So my son went into review on 10/20 and all paperwork was in but I have read some people who applied later where already accepted or given other options (Blinn) so not sure what this means.

Thank y’all! I received the same message people have posted about TEAM. It was only in AIS - not Howdy - still three tabs. An offer of consideration, not an actual TEAM offer.

@mko1121 last week my son received the formal Blinn TEAM offer and 6 tabs within a day of receiving the offer of consideration.

@mko1121 Congrats! Did it say anything specifically about being a BLINN - Mays offer?

@mko1121 Congratulations! You made Blinn Team!

@IT22379 I wonder this as well. My son applied July 7th and still hasn’t heard.

Does anyone know anyone with twins or more attending A&M that may be willing to offer some guidance on managing college?

@alstro thanks! It did not mention Mays at all. It still shows my major preferences in the same order 1. Mays 2. Econ. At first there are big stoplight buttons - green to be considered, yellow if you don’t know, red is “no thanks”. When you hit green, AIS looks exactly like it does when “In Review” except it is highlighted “You are being considered for BlinnTEAM” with the option to change majors just like before.

@IT22379 @aggiehopeful12 I have friends who got TEAM last week with good but lower stats who barely made the app deadline and I applied September (waiting on August SAT). It didn’t make sense to me either and I was upset. So the good news is definitely still more offers coming.

@mo1121 thanks I was a little worried myself because my son just missed automatic admit by 10 on reading/writing and he was top 11% also Math Club, NHS etc. Also has a lot of AP’s and i’ve seen some lower stats getting offers already. So I was kind off not sure how to interpret that.

@IT22379 I was wondering same - son missed academic admit by .25 of a point on ACT and also has DC/AP credits and extracurriculars on top of job. It’s hard to watch and understand. I think there are a lot like us in same boat.

Quick question for everyone on Thisbe board who have received addmisions, are any of you out of state students or are you all Texas residents?

We are out of state, Illinois.

@drm309 @Cmringvelski I was wondering that as well when I spoke to admissions and told them my son is finishing off his senior year in Illinois but I have been living in Texas for the last 6 months he cant be considered in state till August of this year so not sure if being categorized as In-state or Out-state puts anyone at an advantage. I have to fill out a In-state residency form in August.

@JaceyK I know what you mean we have had to apply to more schools in Texas if TAMU doesn’t work out. We got Capped at UT Austin which I heard a lot of other kids that had exceptional grades got capped as well. UT only took top 6-7% and they filled up there whole freshman class.
