@cmehope I think you and your daughter made the 100% right choice. We had the same decision in Illinois and went with the top school. Probably cost him deferred decision at Univ. of Illinois. But as geologist I will tell you that graduate school will be required. So stronger education will pay off. My son is also considering geology at TAMU. Great program. Always an option for grad school if undergrad doesn’t work out. Sounds like Texas has a bunch of great schools that would prepare her for grad school at TAMU or UT.
@cmehope We also struggled with switching schools for less competition. However, I met someone from a small town school who’s daughter was top in her class and had done some type of program where she was offered a scholarship to any university in Texas for science. She went to TAMU and could not keep up as a science major. She switched to Education to be a science teacher to keep that scholarship. I firmly believe it all works out in the end.
YAY!! We finally got an offer…a PSA offer, but at least it’s now done. It came through a few minutes ago.
On to University of Arkansas…Pig Sooie!
@3TXBoys Well…maybe not the outcome you were looking for but I agree that at this point it would be good to just have an answer of some sort. What was his 2nd choice major? Obviously, Mays was full but curious on the other one.
@AggieDreamin Political Science but only because they didn’t have any other options that interested him. I just asked him if he was disappointed and he said no and smiled as he was hanging up his Razorbacks poster. This kid cracks me up!
Good luck to everyone still waiting!
@kkskkw : CONGRATULATIONS TO Y’ALL ON YOUR DAUGHTER’S BLINN-TEAM OFFER! It is a fantastic way to live the Aggie life in Aggieland! Whoooop!
@3TXBoys : I was hoping he would end up in CStat, but he sounds like an awesome addition to Arkansas. Glad that he has a positive outlook on the whole process, that mind frame will help him go far in life. Hope that he has a fantastic time in Arkansas, and I hope he comes BACK to the great state of TX to work and raise his family!
@3TXBoys - so they are rolling out actual PSAs? I’m glad he has a positive outlook!
@AggieMomhelp and @Thelma2 Historically speaking, now that we have a PSA offer announced here, Does that mean that Blinn Team and other offers are dwindling down a lot??
@3TXBoys I think it’s great that your son has a great attitude. He will do great! Question: did his change major request button disappear?
@AggieMomAgain Thank you! He’s my ‘glass is half full’ child. I love his positive outlook on life. The ONLY con on his pro/con list for all 3 universities is that UofA isn’t in Texas. Haha. He really loved it…I mean, how to you not love that charming little town?
@BlueBayouAZ It look like it! It said, You have been offered PSA and there’s a link.
@JaceyK No, nothing changed other than the banner with the offer. Everything else was the same.
Where is he seeing the banner? @3TXBoys - no email or anything?
@3TXBoys did you receive a text or email prior to the offer or did you just peek at AIS?
and, Congratulations!
@3TXBoys congrats to your son! How can you not love the beautiful UA campus?! The football stadium-literally in the middle of campus-is the coolest thing! Tons of Texas kids are there, he won’t be alone. Yay!
I don’t think he got an email. I checked his AIS account…I know, I know…bad mom. We just needed to be done. He’s a list maker and everything has to be finished before he can honestly move on.
Would PSA offers going out indicate that there are also no more Gatewy, or is there no particular order once we get into psa territory? I assumed Gateway was first, but so far, everything I’ve assumed has been wrong haha
@3TXBoys Updated tonight? I only check in the mornings…thought that is the only time AIS updated.
@3TXBoys I am sorry it didn’t go the way we wanted but it sounds like he is a positive thinker and excited to embrace UofA. Beautiful campus. Congratulations and I am glad for y’all that the stress is over.
@nervoustamumommy Class 2021 PSA came out in between other decisions, Class 2020 it was last. Who knows this year. We have not seen Gateway at all. It is small so there may not be anyone on the forum that got it or it hasn’t come out yet
Congrats!!! I just checked as well still in review
@3TXBoys Your son’s attitude is worth more than admission to even the most elite college. He has a truly elite perspective.
My two nieces from Austin went to U of Ark and enjoyed their time. I know lots of loyal Razorbacks. All is well.
i’m so confused by TAMU review process. I’m reading people getting admissions decisions when they applied after me. I’m still in review and don’t even have the notification saying i’m being reviewed for Blinn TEAM. Its starting to get scary and am wondering how the review? is it by date or by college? I applied in september and there are people receiving decisions that applied in october and november. seems a litttttttle unfair in my opinion ?
@scaredfor4 I hear ya! Applied the day the application opened in July and still waiting - it’s a long waiting process but no answer can be a good answer too at this point.
