@scaredfor4 My daughter applied August 2nd and is still waiting. They told us during the prospective student application meeting to try to have it done as soon as possible after apps opened 7/1. They said if it comes down to you and another student that will show how much you wanted it. Well, more than 200 days later and every single person we have heard received admission was MONTHS after she applied. She is an excellent student in a highly competitive district that just missed auto admit for rank by .002 points. So much for applying early.
@Thelma2 @AggieMomhelp. Son just pulled the trigger and accepted Blinn TEAM offer. Your posts on NSC are really helpful. Just wanted to confirm one thing. He originally planned to major in geology. Since he was offered Blinn TEAM does he still need to register for a NSC session for geosciences or can he go to any freshman session? Are Blinn TEAM reps at every freshman NSC? Thanks again for all of your wisdom. Huge help for us.
A friend of mine got PSA, and apparently a cousin of a friend got denied. Not sure how that could be possible, unless their app was incomplete?
@stillhopeful581 could the one thatgot denied just be interpreting PSA as a denial? I think some consider it to beā¦kind of like UT CAP. Or maybe it was incomplete.
@drm309 first congrats!!! Second yes go ahead and apply for major nsc. He will register for both campuses. So exciting and such a great program! Apply for housing ASAP if want on campus.
If you take a sneak peak at A&Mās twitter this morning (@TAMU) thereās an article & link to their Spring Enrollment figures. It allows you to tweak/breakdown stats - tx.ag/2019enroll. Worth a look when/if you have time to peruse.
@drm309 congrats to your future geosciences Aggie!!! My daughter is still hoping for Blinn team or full admit to geosciences at TAMU. Canāt be too much longer for a decision, though. ?
Can someone pls post a screenshot showing where the Blinn or PSA would show up as I have read different placesā¦thank you - also any updates on offer deadlines/numbers left?
Still no word for my son. This is my first going to college so learning a lot of lessons.
Recap: applied Nov, Biol/Hist, non ranking, tamu gave 2q, 3.47(now 3.55), ACT 30.
He applied to 3 schools; TAMU, Baylor and UofH. Has an acceptance from UH - after emailing several times to remind them he was waiting on a decision. I had him apply to Texas State but he seems ok with U of H. I told him he can always transfer to TAMU later if he wants.
@AggieGurl pretty straightforward. Log in to Howdy, then click āapplicant tabā, then click āApplicant Information System (AIS) loginā. There you should see any offers, or it will continue to say āin reviewā¦ā. I donāt think my son saved any screenshots. In his case he first received an offer of consideration for Blinn TEAM. Basically asking him if he would consider TEAM if offered. He had to pick from āYesā āNoā or āI need more time to think about itā. He clicked āyesā and the next day he received a formal offer for TEAM. I have no idea what the sequence would be for PSA, but assume pretty similar. Good luck.
Is being out of state a major factor in the TAMUās decision?
@Cmringvelski A&M does not have a cap on out of state admissions, as out of state and international applicants can qualify for automatic admissions via Academic Admit qualifications.
Keep in mind, that the state limits the out of state tuition waivers a school can grant and those are typically awarded to exceptionally high achieving applicants so be prepared to pay full out of state cost.
@AggieGurl College Confidential does not allow the posting of screenshots.
Your admissions decision will appear on your Applicant Information System (AIS) portal
Do you know that drop-down box on AIS at top that says 2019 Fall - Freshman - BIMS - CS? My sonās has a blue check mark next to it. Do any of you see that? It didnāt do that before, I donāt think. I recall checking it regularly.
@JaceyK does that show up on mobile as well?
I only see the check mark if I click on my daughterās application (2019 Fall - Freshman - VISL - CS @JaceyK - it highlights the bar blue and shows the checkmark. If I click elsewhere it goes away. Iām using Chrome as my browser.
Does anyone know if Blinn TEAM students can apply for Blinn scholarships?
@cmehope what were their stats? Iām planning on going into geoscience but I havenāt heard back either!!
Just a thought (and itās just my imagination going wild and completely hypothetical passing the time, so no need to take too seriously) so, I wonder if they are still reviewing applications, what are they to do if they come across an application thatās stellar, that they think would be a great fit for full admission, but there are no more spots available? Or do yāall think thereās a pile of applications that have already been decided, just not entered into the system? It seems like (assuming everyone in review besides denials) if the remainder or going to get PSA, that theyād just roll out a huge āwaveā and be done with it. Obviously, with zero knowledge of what goes on behind the scenes, I am likely completely wrong, and with 52,000 applications thatās no easy feat, surely. Mainly because of the āwavesā and it seeing to go in order, full, then TEAM, possibly some gateway, PSA, then denials. Since we seem to be in the PSA phase, wouldnāt it be safe to say thereās really no chance for us review folks to get anything but psa or denial? Weāve come to grips with the fact that itās not likely happening for her. Anyone else in review feeling the same?
Admissions said more teab and team decisions are still to come but I highly doubt it now.
