TAMU Class of 2023 - Admission Decisions/Discussion

Again hopefully no news is good news I haven’t really seen to many post on full admissions just Blinn.

A lot of us are in the same boat with very good stats. Seems like too many for TAMU to handle…but that can’t be the case with offers being extended to those with lesser scores and ranks. I have no clue how to feel about this. My son is still adamant about TAMU so he will do straight Blinn via PTA. He had no interest in looking elsewhere. Sigh. Part of me wants him to go where he is wanted. ?

@IT22379 my other daughter goes to Fordham, Rose Hill, she likes it there although she initially did not want to enroll there. if your kid was accepted to business school in Fordham and got good money, that school is good :). The Rose Hill campus is really nice, I do not like the “outside” of the campus though

@randomuser492 My son is Political Science, review and hasn’t heard back.

Around application time several people told me that letters of recommendation were pointless and they essentially didn’t even look at them, so being naive I didn’t submit any. Have I sunk my chances at any admission?

Here is what I got directly in response to my email to admissions today:

Howdy!
We are expecting to have our decisions completed by the first week of March. This has been a moving target based on the record number of applications this year, and our staff is doing everything it can to keep pace with this timeline. I realize it is an anxious time as folks are waiting for a decision, and I appreciate your patience with us as we are releasing decisions as quickly as we are able.

Curious how many Architecture students have gotten accepted for Fall as I have seen a handful of Visualization majors and a couple of Construction Science but crickets from the other majors…?

hey y’all!
I have been following this thread since I first applied in July just to stay in the loop of everything. I’m an OOS review applicant. I went to Aggieland Saturday my sophomore year and fell in love with TAMU which lead me to travel back to CC this fall for “Spend the Night with the Corps” and had an amazing experience, although when admissions talked to us I got the feeling I would have slimmer chances than I thought of getting in. I am 99% going to a different university even though a part of me wishes for admissions to TAMU with the nonresident waiver (big dreams). I am all about the spirit and what it means to be an Aggie. As the final weeks of the admissions process are among us, I want to thank everyone on here who have shared their advice, experience, etc. I wish you all the best and gig em!

For what it is worth - I had someone at our regional perspective student center confirm that visualization is full. We were told in the summer at an application workshop that it usually reaches capacity right after Mays, since it is such a small program. @AggieGurl

@AggieGurl , I have also seen/heard that Visualization is Full.

Thanks @bluebayouAZ and 52AG82 - I am trying to get info on the other depts within Architecture - Landscape Architecture and Environmental Design…anyone hear of acceptances and if full?

I’ve been following this thread for a few months and thought I should share what information I have received from my close friend who works in Business Administration at TAMU -

So far she does not know specific numbers nor could she disclose that information to me, but she does not believe all admissions decisions have been sent out, including full TEAM and PSA - however this was just a general speculation of hers. She did also say all decisions should be out on or before March 1st.

She did also mention many of the state schools being interested in accepting low income, first generation families and that could explain some of the higher scoring individuals not hearing back yet.

Good luck to all still waiting! It has been a long process.

@Agmom2023 I absolutely agree about the big push towards accepting 1st generation college students and low income. That, plus a record number of Top 10% and students just shy of Auto Admit, could easily come close to filling the class of 2023. And don’t forget lowering the incoming freshman class size.

I have been stalking this forum for awhile now. My son finally received a decision tonight -PSA. It literally just changed about an hour ago in AIS I think. Anyway, good luck to everyone else waiting for a decision.

@luvTX45 I’m surprised that decisions have been having a trend of getting released later at night recently, I thought that they only updated 7AM in the morning. Ahh this week is going to end me with all of this stress over the decision

Decision came in tonight for our daughter. She was offered PSA.

@GManmom123 what were her stats?

@luvTX45 what were his stats?

3.5 gpa
1310 SAT
2nd Q
lots of ECs
I thought her essays were excellent (but I’m her Mom)

We were expecting this. I’m guessing we will move to Plan B - Texas Tech Engineering

Did anyone else get a random text from Blinn College today? It mentions about learning more about Blinn College and to download the Blinn ap…Daughter is still in review but wasn’t sure if A&M might have released data for those that applied but haven’t been accepted
