@Thelma2
I completely appreciate the amount of work and effort involved but still think leaving only denials for post March 1st is difficult for the Applicants. Would be great if admissions could provide a reason that might help people understand why.
You are doing yoemans work in this board. Please know how appreciative we all are.
@Thelma2 yes transfer for fall.
In Howdy, Manage Applications, Change your major is no longer there for my daughter. PSA (or denial) is coming.

Calling the admissions desk will always get a different answer to when decisions will be released. People answering the phones are not the AOâs. Those answering the phones do not know nor can they speculate, how long it will take to go through the application pile for the next decision release.
We know it is inconsistent and that no one can or will give an exact date. This phenomenon happens every year. Yet, despite knowing that answers are inconsistent, people continue to call, expecting a different answer than reported before, and it never is.
Then, all of those different reports are posted for hundreds to see on this forum. So, in essence, A&M isnât causing the gut wrenching of the inconsistent statements. It is the same statement, said in different ways.
As to engineering, review applicants are notoriously pushed to January.They too, have to process the auto and academic admits to know how many spots are left in College Station to offer to review applicants. I mentioned that many times on the engineering thread. Then, they go through the process of who will be offered the many engineering pathways.
I know you are frustrated and worried for your chances. I totally get that. I know it is not easy to understand right now but this admissions process is such a small bump in the big picture. No university is the end all be all. Having good back up plans is always good to have. Unfortunately, I donât know that McAllen engineering academy will be offered as a singular admissions offer. All we saw of it so far is the combination offer of Blinn/Bryan, Galveston, McAllen.
Keep an eye on your change of major buttons. If they disappear, then PSA is a likely offer. I donât recall your back up plans, but if it is any of interest to you, to apply to Blinn Bremham Engineering Academy. You will get the banner, can get a sportspass for any sport (not just football) and apply to a major in April of your freshman year, same as students in College Station. Their applications open today, I believe. I do wish you luck and all the best wherever you land
@Thelma2 - I can only hope the remove of change major means PSA is on the way. We have been on so many highs and lows with this rollercoaster and right now, a PSA would be welcome. He may or may not take itâI would just like the decision to be his and not made for him (denial).
well⊠Is anyone looking to carpool to Fayetteville this fall? lol.
@sportingclaymom and @MariaVCA Virginia Tech was my sonâs first choice and he was waitlisted. My husband is a Hokie and Iâm an Aggie. My husband loved VT and still gets together with his VT friends for football games. He was recruited by a major oil company straight from college. Not sure of the outcome of my sonâs A&M application because he hasnât told me anything. But in my opinion VT is a great option. It has a lot of school spirit and traditions similar to A&M.
@kojemom Thank you for your input on this. Sonâs top 3 were TAMU, Purdue and VT. Heâs been accepted to both Purdue and VT. Iâve heard the campus is beautiful and the food is great at VT. Theyâll all bloom where theyâre planted
I wanted to thank @trinley for the Texas A&M Blinn Brenham information. After my daughter received PSA, we decided to visit. She is interested in the Engineering Academy, but so many other kids were there for other majors. My daughter was pleasantly surprised with what they had to say. They had a âPreview Dayâ and we learned that this is one of the schools that helps transition students into Texas A&M. The campus was very pretty and we were impressed with the dorms. She is now considering attending Blinn. There is a thread from @trinley about the program. She is once again excited about her possibilities. I hope everyone looks into other options. Texas A&M is one of the few schools that really try to accommodate the students that have applied.
They only take the first 100 kids, so it is filling up fast.
@BlueBayouAZ
I am sick. ???
My ?
You have been a ROCKSTAR taking all the stats from the previous years and comparing them to the DARs numbers.
?
@tamu23plz UArk is a great school! My now Senior didnât apply there. But my older daughter is a graduate of UArk & loved Arkansas so much that she stayed and is living & working in a Little Rock!
I am so sorry @Michaelandcello Thank you for restating your stats. Wishing you all the best wherever you land.
So sorry @libbyshims Not the decision we were all hoping for.
@mrsqster Check the transfer course sheet. Most all majors require a certain number of hours to be taken post graduation in order to be considered for transfer. If you follow the transfer course sheet for the major, you will know what courses to take in fall to satisfy any requirements that may not be covered.
So if I still have the two buttons (change of major and withdraw application), what would that mean?
My phone died and I came back to all this. Iâm sad for those that didnât get the decision they wanted and have worked so hard for. What doesnât kill us makes us stronger, right? This time next year it wonât even matter. Your student will be in their 2nd semester and thriving. Planning spring break and how much beer they can sneak (just kidding about the beer ?). But seriously, they will find their way as we did. This year has been crazy and I canât say enough how awesome your kiddos appear. They are going to do great things. Hide and watch!
And please check in next year to provide insight, support and empathy to those going through it for the class of 2024. Donât blink.
Still under review , withdraw option still available , change major not available . I wonât even share statistics because we are not even near as to what is a good number . We are against all odds but not giving up hope yet. Daughter has been accepted to TAMU San Antonio though and she will be thrilled to attend San Antonio but still hoping ! Majoring USEH
Awwww. You were one of the awesome ones I have been rooting for.
But, where one door closes . ⊠. And you know what - do you ever find yourself in a situation and you try to trace back which decision it was that got you there? Sometimes we get a little help along the way; a path swerves left instead of right, and then BAM! Magic in an unexpected but still amazing form.
Good luck to you!!!
