TAMU Class of 2023 - Admission Decisions/Discussion

@Thelma2 thanks but daughter will not be transferring after next fall. Just found it interesting.

@thelma2 and @AggieMomhelp any idea how long it takes for their AIS to update after the change major button goes away?

Someone tweeted something about RIP to going to A&M and Aggiebound responded “As of today, decisions are still rolling. Due to an unusually large applicant pool, the process is taking just a bit longer than expected. You should see a decision sometime next week.” This was this afternoon.

@tisulli Gosh, I’d have to look back to last year for that. How about a generic "24 hours’. Ha ha. Let me go see if I can put my hands on that info or maybe @AggieMomhelp remembers

@nervoustamumommy I think you accidentally tagged me instead of someone else. But yeah, ditto to all of what you said.

Congratulations to your kiddo on Gateway! All the best. :slight_smile:

@Mommydoodle Thanks for sharing that. AggieBound Twitter is official so if it is in print there, take it for what it says. That is good to know.

How can I private message

@Thelma2 we have been following them as they are supposedly Twitter account for admissions but haven’t seen them say much about where things stand. They responded that way to a couple different people today

My change major button is not on my howdy but still on my AIS. Should I still expect a PSA offer?

Probably a very dumb question, and I’m sure I know the answer (based on the thousands of times y’all have said major doesn’t matter other than for Mays or engineering) but if the Change Your Major button is still active, would it help to do so? My daughter’s boyfriend has first choice BIMS, and second choice May’s. But after thinking this last month or so that Blinn Team would be the best he could get, he has seriously revisited his major choices and decided on microbiology. His plan B is straight to Blinn (been accepted and currently looking at apartments) and work on transferring in next year. Do any of you think changing it now would at all help? @Thelma2

@nervoustamumommy congrats!

@mrsqster click on the person’s user name and a page will pop up with a button that says Message

@nervousaggie101 When the change of major button disappears, it means the PSA decision is coming. I don’t recall off hand how long it takes for your AIS to update.

If PSA is something you are interested in, please take a look at the PSA thread. The schools that will be offered to you don’t have unlimited spots for PSA and they can fill up at some system schools pretty quick.

what are your stats? @Blaketflip

WHOOOOP! :slight_smile:

CONGRATULATIONS to all of the families who received a GATEWAY offer! That is a wonderful opportunity, I am SO GLAD that there were still some spots left. This has been a year of outstanding applicants, receiving GATEWAY is such an honor. :slight_smile: What a great way to start off living the Aggie life in Aggieland!

Come back and post your experience on CC for the benefit of everyone in the future admissions cycle! =D> =D> :D/

@BlueBayouAZ I’m a Girl Scout Gold Award Recipient as well
 and have around the same stats as your daughter. I’m disappointed to say the least. It’s heartbreaking

@sportingclaymom what are their stats?

@nervoustamumommy CONGRATULATIONS!!!

To all of the families receiving PSA, this isn’t the news you wanted, but your students are strong and well prepared for college. I wish them all the best wherever they go.

If they have plans of ending up in Aggieland, that first year away will go by so quickly and will hardly be remembered by they time they graduate. :slight_smile:

If your student decides on a different school, I hope it is all that they want it to be. :slight_smile:

The applicants for this year have been absolutely amazing. Such an extremely high performing class across the entire state of TX. I wish that there was enough room for everyone to be a full admit Aggie.

I still have my change major option on my AIS. What could this mean? Does it mean that I didn’t get PSA, or that I have a chance at another pathway? Also, does the change major option disappear when you get a flat at denial?
