Where in howdy should I be looking for the change major feature??I’m not familiar with it. I still see it on my AIS tho, thank you guys so much for all the helpful info!
Oops- meant to tag @Thelma2 in my previous post:
For PTA, are you given an option between taking PSA or PTA? Or just given one option?
@Thelma2 It’s okay I didn’t really care. My fault being a little too annoying asking questions already said by others and complaining. I appreciate your input and responses. This time is just frisutrating for everyone. Can’t wait till it’s over!
My change of major option is now gone in howdy, guess that means PSA. Debating on if I should take the PSA offer or go to a diff college for my 1st year (txstate, Utsa or blinn) and transfer the following year? Any recommendations?
Only PSA is an admissions decision from A&M.
PTA won’t be offered to applicants. It is a program you sign up to participate in.
The program link tells about the PTA program and it also has the participation and completion form.
You will need to contact a TAMU admission counselor for the program, as there are meeting to attend.

You will need to talk with an advisor at UTA about what credits will transfer and count for credit in the degree plan and what will transfer, but not count towards the degree plan. It can vary by institution.
Since you plan on transferring, use the A&M transfer course sheet for the major you are wanting to transfer into as a guide in planning your classes.
Depending on your major, most of the classes for transfer admissions have Texas Common Course Numbers for the required courses (and those numbers are on the transfer sheet).
Your UTA advisor can help you plan your course of action in taking the required courses for transfer. Be mindful of all of the criteria.
Good Luck!
@WaitingAgg you have to decide at which school you feel most comfortable. What appealed to my sons with the PSA was the fact that admission was guaranteed. You don’t re-apply and wonder what the decision will be. You fill out paperwork and know that you are in.
@texas99 What major? That SAT and quartile should’ve given her academies instantly.
Howdy! Still “in review” and have been really hoping for Gateway at this point . I was looking into it just now and noticed that TAMU states under their description of Gateway that “Due to coursework limitations, students with more than 40 hours of college credit are not eligible to participate in the Gateway program.” I have taken 6 1-semester dual credit courses through my high school, thus earning college credit, so does that mean I’m ineligible for this program? Thanks
@tamuiskillingme 6 classes per semester or 1 class over 6 semesters?
Assuming that your courses equal 3 credits each, and you’ve only had six classes, you’d have 18 credits. In that case, you’re good!
Do I check whether that “change of major” button is in my AIS or Howdy? I only see the “change of major” button on my AIS.
@futurenurse_123 Check Howdy. It should have withdraw application or change of major, or something like that. If you’re missing the change of major on Howdy, then it’s PSA.
I took Comp I, Comp II, and US History my junior year and Brit Lit, Econ, and US Gov this year. I guess I am still good then? Thank you so much for being up so late @luckyaggie ! I had a rush of stress for a moment there lol.
@futurenurse_123 In Howdy, you need to click on the Applicant Tab and get the pull down menu. Go to Manage Applications and then click on the blue link “Manage Applications” then you will see if you still have Change Major and/or Withdrawal Application.

@tamuiskillingme Yep, you’re good! I hope you get Gateway!
Hi I have a question, if the change major tab is gone on howdy, does that mean ONLY psa or could it mean another offer too?
@hopefulaggie2023 from what I’ve seen in the past, the disappearance of the change major tab was a sure path for only PSA (I delved into the 2022 thread and the same thing happened to them).
My change major button disappeared too.
Yay! I was offered three pathways this early morning: Engineering at Galveston, Engineering at McAllen or TEAB. Please note that TEAB is not an option anymore because it’s full. Don’t lose hope guys! Patience is key! I’ve been following this post for a long time anxiously reading your comments and praying that I would get at least one pathway. I did still have the Change Major and the Withdrawl button on Howdy.
Good Luck to Everyone!
