I don’t know if I should be proud or what - I’ve just been promoted to Member here on CC. :)) 8-}
Congrats JaceyK As of this morning still in review with the buttons for changing majors still available.
@IT22379 Wow and your major was Mays first and I forget 2nd? They holding out on us!!
@JaceyK yeah it was Mays first Mathematics 2nd. Kind of a weird feeling because why hold out till the end to give us PSA or a denial or is there something more positive coming
@JaceyK Congrats! I was hoping when I got up for this morning for work and checked you all would have good news to report. Thinking about and praying for you all.
Okay y’all. Help me out here. I applied in October. I think 10/15/18. My app is still “under review”. Majors are: 1st Choice: Biomedical Science, and 2nd: Biology. I still have the change major button (not sure if that means anything), and I still only have 3 tabs in Howdy. Y’all veteran parents: what are my chances? Probably not full admission at this point?
@cwhite1 we are in the same boat he went into review 10/20 and still in review. 1st Mays and 2nd Mathematics. We are pretty much looking that we will get PSA or a denial.
@cwhite1 Welcome! There are a handful of BIMS majors in same boat as you (including my son)! We are all anxiously waiting to see where we land. What are your stats, if I may ask?
Awesome!
I had been homeschooled for 9th-11th, and started public school this year. I can’t “offically” have a class rank, but they listed it on my transcript anyway. I’m 6th out of 25.
Not super proud of it (never been a good test taker), but my test scores are:
SAT: 1140
ACT: 24
I really am relying on my tons of community service hours, and life experience in my essay to get in.
Hello. I have haven stalking y’all since October, but wanted to weigh in, since my daughter is also anxiously waiting some news and still has “request to change major” button. I thought I would share since so many other BIMS students are still waiting.
When did you apply: October 2018
When did you get your UIN: October 2018
When did you receive your admission decision: N/A
Are you an Auto-admit or Academic Admit or Review Admit:Review
Major/College of Choice: BIMS
Class Rank: 180/690
SAT (with Sub Scores)
ACT (with Sub Scores) 25
I’m also in the same boat, biomed 1st, biology 2nd and still in review with all my tabs. I’m not holding out much hope because at one point when I spoke to someone in admissions they said that any decisions coming out after the 1st are most likely just PSA or denials.
@treytexag I just saw your tweet to Aggiebound! It was funny as I stumbled on it seeing the words “still in review” - how sad is it that those words seem to be forever burned in my mind. LOL
Still in review with change major tab present. Again my daughter had 1300 (670 math) 4.0 unweighted (don’t remember weighted at this point). Class rank 10.7%. 1st choice biochem 2nd choice biomed engineering (she screwed up ranking but was scared to change it). Not holding out alot of hope just wish they would tell us already. She got UT CAP and a full ride at our home university. Await TCU they do all at once on a day in March unless you applied for early decision (which we didn’t). She would probably take Blinn but I don’t think even that is happening at this point. I don’t think she would do PSA. Wish everyone the best.

Activities: Vice President National Honor Tech Society, Best Buddies Program, HOSA, and around 300 volunteer hours filming various events within school district. Affected by Hurricane Harvey and went to a different school for almost all of Junior year due to our high school flooded and re-opened March 2018.
@JaceyK I saw that pic pop up on one of the screensavers from 2006. It was just too cute, Emily was only 6 then, 12 years ago. Where does the time go? I have D#1 graduating from A&M CStat in May, and now D#2 leaving the nest. I will say, I DON"T LIKE IT! LOL. But I guess we’ll just have to get used to it . . . . .
Same boat here BIMS/Biology and still have buttons.
Is there a final answer as to why or why not the change major tab would not be there? I changed my major a while back and it’s not there. Is it becasue I already changed it once maybe or will I find out a decision soon?
Howdy y’all!
I called admissions they said the reason the “change major” button disappeared is because our accounts are in review as in they are looking at them right now and any changes could throw them off.
As far as it being stated previously In the thread someone said anything after the first will be a PSA or a denial - she said that is typically true for freshman students only.
Hey y’all, now that my daughter received gateway, I felt ‘safe’ to call and enquire about the change of major button, decisions after March 1st etc… as I have several students on pins and needles who have also lost their button.
The woman laughed when I started to say “I’ve been reading on an online forum…” she interrupted me and laughed and said “let me guess, College Confidential” then went on to say how if she had a dollar for every call she received saying they read things here, she’d be able to take a nice vacation ?
Although I’m quite sure they likely have to keep with the script as far as saying decisions are still rolling out, unusually large amount of applicants, etc. she seemed (I say that cautiously) that she was being very candid. She stated that this time of year many things start to circulate online as far a clues to being able to predict what type of offer is coming. She said there’s absolutely no truth to any of it, and that it’s such a headache for them. She stated that applicants in review were TRULY still under review, for every type of offer and that there’s absolutely zero truth that only PSA or denials are left. She actually suggested I reiterate that to my students! Nor is there any true pattern. She said she really hopes that all decisions would be out by the end of next week, but to be cautious they are saying mid March at the latest. She was very kind and funny and really stressed that anything read here, while maybe well meant, should absolutely be taken with a grain of salt. I was already calling regarding my daughters decision, so I wasn’t as hesitant to pick her brain as I would’ve been before we received the decision. Good luck y’all, I’m really praying she was being forthcoming, it most definitely sounded as though she was.
Guess we will see if those that lost buttons get a decision tomorrow (assuming trend of a few days after losing it…) and if any of them are anything other than PSA or Gateway. I kind of doubt it but it would be nice to see more full decisions rolling out. Every time someone calls the admissions office they say something different. But other than timing of the “waves”, or “ripples” in some cases, the sequence seems to run true to past years.
