TAMU Class of 2023 - Admission Decisions/Discussion

Sadly the answer is less than 17% if things shake down like they did last year.

As @nomatter pointed out the last couple of cycles have been brutal. My daughter’s test scores and GPA were slightly better than yours (28 with - 29M and 27E), but she was in the second quarter. There were many applicants with better stats than hers that also got PSA. Your best shot is to get your scores up to academic admit standards.

This is the cold reality in 2019:
4.7% - Review full 2350
6.0% - Review Alternative 3000 (Engineering Academy/Blinn TEAM)

And of those review candidates - a portion come from speciality scholarship programs like http://scholarships.tamu.edu/Scholarship-Programs/Century-Scholars#0-CenturyScholarSchools

Any review applicant in 2019 had 17% chance of getting admitted full (7.5%) or alternative admission (9.6%). The odds are not in ANY review candidates favor.
If you don’t have a back up school that your really like - I would keep looking. It’s great to have TAMU as a top choice. But the reality is as a review candidate admission is not likely.

To all that didn’t get the answer you’re wanting there is always the transfer route. My daughter chose to go to Blinn her first year. She studied hard made the deans list and is now in her sophomore year and THRIVING! Rushed/pledged and found so many friends. You’ll find many students go this route. It’s not where you start but where you end!!

Since you’re in the top 25%, your best chance is to bump up to Academic Admit by getting your ACT score up to 30+. Look into the ACT testing that A&M does, where they score it within 24 hours!
