@Krb2000 since you are taking a required math class this semester they will hold for Spring grades. With regard to you GPA, it should help if you are able to finish strong in the Spring.
@AggieDreamin @2NDGENAGGIE TAMU does accept Spring transfers. However, they do not consider classes currently taken during the fall semester as meeting transfer decision requirements. The reason for this is primarily the university is shut down over the holidays. This makes it virtually impossible to transfer in the spring your first year out of college. If your looking at transferring, I recommend attending one of the TAMU transfer sessions this spring. You can meet with department advisors etc. we did this 2 years ago with my oldest son. As you know, PTA and PSA will give you guaranteed admission but regular transfer will not as it is competitive. However, a department advisor can give you an idea of what a competitive gpa is for admissions.
So many options, with pluses and minuses. We are currently looking at all of them for our second son. He is leaning heavily toward PSA at Tarelton because he wants to be on a “real” campus and dorm to get the freshman college experience, etc. Some want to be in CS because they have friends there and so take the Blinn route. I think it mostly boils down to individual preference and what you want out of your freshman year. The cost is about the same
My son is a transfer student and went from 3 to 6 tabs this morning. He is transferring into the Sport Management program.
@nursekgf congrats! Do you remember when you got your transfer audit.
@AggieDreamin yes it was 1/29
@nursekgf us too so hopefully will hear this week. ?
What do y’all mean by change in tabs? Trying to see where this would be on my app
@hannahrk when you open up the Howdy app on your phone go to the top left corner and click on the three lines. When you are in review you will have 3 tabs (Home, Applicant, My Howdy). If you are about to be accepted you will 6 tabs (Home/MyRecord/MyFinances/StudentLife/MyHowdy). This will show up before you see official notification in AIS.
Congrats!! Mine is still “in review” I’m a psychology major and I received my transfer audit 1/24
@Krb2000 Psychology here as well. Transfer audit 1/29.
Good luck!! I think some liberal arts/ psychology got their answers by the 20th so I hope we know soon!
Howdy!
I applied for Dance Science on January 1st. I already auditioned and got accepted into the dance portion of it and I am now waiting for my university results. I have a 3.07 GPA, 27 transferable hours and I got my transfer audit 1/23. I was just wondering what my chances were, and when I will hear back?
@txdancer01 Do you have all the required classes in the transfer plan covered?
@AggieDreamin yes I do.
@txdancer01 No one can say for sure but the GPA minimum is 2.75 so I would think chances are good especially if they already accepted into The dance portion. Good luck! Hopefully you will hear soon.
I applied Jan 2nd & got my Transfer Audit 2/6. I have a 3.62 & 66 transferable hours. I applied to their Human Resources program. Do you know if I have a pretty good chance at being accepted. I applied for Summer 2020!
@brookeeo stats look really good minimum was only 2.75. So as long as you followed the transfer plan to a tee and the major isn’t excessively competitive, I would think you have a great shot at admission.
What if your required course was a course you received exam credit for?
@Hannahrk what do you mean by “received exam credit for?” Do you mean that you received AP credit?
@AggieDreamin Yes AP credit!! sorry should have specified!
