@anhtran A normal bachelors degree is 120 credits. For Engineering it’s about 130. There doesn’t appear to be a maximum transferable hours, so that’s good. But I do believe 45 credits must come from TAMU in order to earn a degree from TAMU. Don’t quote me on that, but ask about it. I do know you have to have 45 at tamu to order ring (90 total and half at tamu for ring).
Does anyone know when engineering applicants will hear back? I’m a mechanical engineering major and I got my transfer audit on 2/5.
Does anyone know if transfer applicants are eligible for business honors? If so, is there a separate application or do I just choose bnhr when applying for upper level business courses?
6 tabs appeared in my Howdy!! How long does it take for the AIS to update?
My daughter still only has 3 tabs and on her application status the only Red X is for College Trans Final Grades from Blinn.
Does this mean that they won’t make a decision until after her Spring Grades Post? She had 22 Dual Credit grades and 15 credits from first semester with a 3.8. Transferring into College of Liberal Arts for History.
I still haven’t gotten any tabs. Should I be worried?
@seniormom2000 check the letters under AIS to see if she was deferred for spring grades. Otherwise, she should have enough graded credits for admission. Did she complete all required coursework?
@fbonilla101 Congrats. Could take a few days or could be today. Hang in there… you are in!
@chautrinh hand tight. Wait for the tabs to appear or denial letter. Every department is different and with how things are going in the world, it could take longer than usual to hear back. No news is always good news for transfers. And watch your major… if it flips to second choice, then you know you were denied by first choice.
@AggieMomhelp I am at Blinn right now and I already applied and they did the thing where they hold until spring grades. I currently have a 4.0 and Blinn now made classes pass-fail I am wondering what to do since my required course is this semester do I do pass-fail for all except English(my required class) or do I not do pass-fail at all since I need to transfer.
@AggieMomhelp I just checked her letters and all she has is the one acknowledging her application. She never had a Transfer Audit done. So do you think they are still waiting to do that? Should she reach out to the Transfer Admissions Department?
Yes she had all the required courses and is in one of the recommended courses right now. She is a History Major
@ccant3 I had not heard that yet about Blinn going to P/F… I do know that even at TAMU they are advising students to check with advisors to make sure that classes they are taking Satisfactory or Unsatisfactory are okay per the major.
I would say the same holds true for transfer. Make sure it’s okay to take P/F but if you have a 4.0… I’d stick with grades so there’s no issue. Even a B isn’t going to hurt you.
@seniormom2000 Strange… they shouldn’t be holding for spring grades if just a recommended course is outstanding. ARE you positive they have fall semester grades? Obviously that would be in the degree audit. I would call to see why it’s still showing an X.
My AIS updated today. Just signed up for NSC!
Got my transfer audit today… I know I have to be deferred for spring, but I don’t think I have yet. Will i be notified if they defer me?
Yes, they will defer you and let you know.
They just sent out an email that the NSC’s will be held virtually on their original dates.
I got my Transfer Audit 3/30 how long should I expect until they make a decision?
Have any BIMS applicants receive a decision yet?
Howdy! Has anyone heard back from The College of Education & Human Development? I applied January 1st and received my audit 2/10.
@emd931 I am still waiting to hear back from the College of Education & Human Development too! I applied on 01/16 and got my transfer audit on 03/06. I think they are typically slower on making their decisions.
@AggieMomhelp . Thank you so much for telling us to contact Admissions. We reached out to the Senior Regional Advisor Transfer Recruiting about my Daughter having the Red X on awaiting Blinn Spring Grades when she hadn’t received a letter about being deferred. She contacted us quickly, removed the red X and now my daughter’s application is complete and moving on!!
Are there any applicants waiting for Mays and deferred for Spring grades? We have a friend that is waiting and we just read in the requirements that Spring grades will not be considered for Summer or Fall admissions.
