Hi. I just wonder what is your major? I have 1 required course that I am also taking this spring too.
Hey y’all, I applied for transfer to the school of geosciences for fall 2020, but was deferred for not having enough credits. My first question is where should I send my final transcript? I know in the past they’ve always wanted printed transcripts, so I want to make sure I send the electronic version to the right pace.
My second question is, if I haven’t completed one course from the transfer course sheet, will I be automatically denied? I believe my current grades and application should be competitive (I had automatic acceptance when applying as a freshman, but went to UTD for a year to save money.) I am worried about getting overlooked over this minor technicality.
@johnmuir94 you should be able to electronically send it via the sending school’s portal to TAMU. Regarding the missed requirement, it is best to have all the requirements but I cannot say either way if there are exceptions. Maybe someone else has additional insight. Good luck!
If you don’t have required courses you will most likely be denied. Recommended courses aren’t a big deal but they like things done before applying. Not in process but done.
Hi I don’t know if this allowed but- I’m going to enter college this year and I want to transfer into TAMU within a year. I would only have 15 credits by the time I apply but I would need minimum 24 credits for my desired major ( FIVS )… can I still apply?
@hyoeuni you HAVE to have the required coursework COMPLETE before applying. I think FIVS is forensic and investigative sciences, so the required coursework as listed here : https://web-as.tamu.edu/ecardimages/publications/2019TCS/AG19-Forensic.pdf
Good luck!
@AggieMomhelp Daughter got “Transfer Deny Request Spring Grades”. Applying to Liberal Arts for Sociology. Had to take 1 required course this Spring, also took Year 1 Foreign language. After this semester she has a total of 46 hours (includes 18 hours of dual credit). She made a 4.0 this semester at ACC and her cumulative is now a 3.07. Had a challenging semester at an out of state university this past fall which she addressed in her essay. Does she have a good chance since she was deferred? Can’t do any better than a 4.0.
Getting a deferred for grades is Typically a good sign. And you’re right… getting a 4.0 can only help.
Keep us posted!!! Best of luck.
You need 24 graded credits to apply. You cannot apply for spring. But can apply in spring for summer or fall with classes in progress. If grades are decent then you’ll most likely be deferred for spring grades. If you have good grades and all required coursework complete by December 2020, then they can accept you without spring grades (for the summer or fall).
Good luck. Work hard. Have fun.
Does anyone know how long it typically takes to get a decision back? I’m a Poli Sci Transfer, and sent in my Spring Grades already this past week, with them being received, and marked yesterday.
I got deferred for Spring grades and sent in my transcript last week. It shows up in my received documents tab but the big red X on my application status is still there. Has anyone else had that issue and is it something to call about or does it just take time to change? Thank you
It can take time to mark received. As for timing of decision… it’s up to the department so once info is received, admissions turns it over to them. Give it some time. 2 weeks perhaps.
Question! I was in the PTA Program this year and met all the requirements for guaranteed acceptance! I was wondering when will I see that I’ve been admitted? I’m an Economics major.
In the same boat. Transcripts received in the documents tab 8 days ago, but the red X remains in AIS. Is the next step a new transfer audit report?
Forgot to add to my recent comment: My transcript was just processed this morning according to the admissions office. Still shows a red X on AIS, but the admissions person said that AIS does take a while to update.
I’m in PTA for Psychology BS. My application was deferred for Spring grades. I finished 31 credits at Blinn and have an overall 4.0 GPA across 37 total credits.
I sent my new transcript 2 days ago but haven’t seen an update on AIS over whether or not they’ve received it. How long does it normally take for transcripts to be processed and marked as “received?”
Does anyone know how long it typically takes to hear a response for PTA acceptances?
Applied as a communications major with a 3.54 and B for required corse work. What do you think my chances are?
It’s a contract so I would think as soon.m as they get your info processes, you will get the go ahead to sign up for nsc.
@heyhey17 I just replied on the other thread. So this one says you already applied so yay. I think you will most likely be admitted. Strong gpa and coursework.
Someone from admissions emailed me saying, “We’ve got to verify your requirements as well as process your transcript and this is peak season. I would expect further words in mid to late June.” Will there still be good NSC dates left and Will there still be classes
Open that I need by the time I have my NSC?
