TAMU FALL 2020 TRANSFER ADMISSIONS

Must come from college, not just high school transcript for dual credit.

Aggie Dreamin, I looked around on his Howdy portal this morning and under “documents received” all the past transcripts, LOR’s, essay etc are all there. The current transcripts are listed as recieved under this tab, but still show pending under App Status. So it did sync up and all his info past and present is under the one UIN.

@SMcC07 Did you get a new UIN or did they use the old one?

@SMcC07 cheering for you guys!!!

Just to make sure to keep ourselves posted…!

I did not make a B on a computer science course so I hope I am good to go.

However, I failed to contact the transfer advisor and cannot make an appointment for an on-campus advising. Considering my current financial situation as well, I don’t think I can visit the campus before applying to TAMU.

Is it common for prospective transfer applicants to visit the campus to talk to advisors?

@yochio I think have a phone or email conversation will be enough. They can’t penalize: for distance nor can every student make it to campus. It’s all good.

Aggie Dreamin, I looked through our old notes from the first go around and yes, this UIN that was just assigned is the same as last time.
Thank you Aggie mom help, grateful for all your help!!

@SMcC07 thanks! She actually received her notification yo set ip NetID today. Waiting on her DC transcript to be entered and she should be good for her transfer audit.

Anybody else still have their transcript as received but not processed? I sent it electronically through Austin Community College’s portal on the sixth and a&m showed that they received it on the 7th, but it hasn’t been processed yet. Anybody else still in this phase or is there something wrong with my transcript?

@evanpivirotto I am in the same boat. My Blinn transcript is processed, but TJC is still pending.

Same boat too with transcripts.

Yes, same. Received under documents, but still pending for application status.

Hey everyone,

I am applying for the summer 2020 semester at A&M. I Was rejected for spring 2020 so I have decided to re-apply for summer.

-Applied: 01/14/2020
-Term: Summer 2020
-Gpa: 3.85
-Total credits: 62 (after spring 2020)
-Major: Biology (BS)
-2nd choice Major: Biology (BA)
-Transfer requirements: All requirements completed
-Submitted Both Essay A and C
-plan to submit 2 LOR’s as well
-EC’s: Been working 2 part-time jobs since Fall 2018, 3 years and counting volunteering with a blood center. President 2 clubs on campus and treasurer for another one. Phi Theta Kappa member and on campus representative for PTK.

I have already raised my GPA from 3.8 to 3.85 from the last application cycle. Hopefully, it will be even higher after Spring semester. I have only 1 course that is bringing my GPA down, I have since retaken that course and gotten an A in it.

Not sure why you wouldn’t have been admitted for spring. Did you have all of the required courses complete upon application? If not then, do you now have them done?

@AggieMomhelp For spring I had one course in progress and I had notified them. I have all required courses completed for summer 2020. Do you think they will take into account my spring rejection when making a decision for my new application?

Awe… no worries! They do not like admitting in the Spring for grades in progress for Fall. They do however do this in the spring for summer/fall admission (they simply defer til final grades are in). So that is why. They want everything completed before you apply and the turnaround from fall to spring admission is just too tight.

I don’t see you having any issues being accepted. I’m assuming your essay was spot on and noted your ECs and your passion for Bio!? It came across on here so I’m going to assume you did!!! Good luck and please let me know when you get your decision. Could be a few weeks or a month. I’m not sure how quickly bio reviews/releases decisions.

Hey, I am a possible prospective transfer student in fall 2021. I am wondering if I can complete the required freshman engineering courses that TAMU requires at an OOS college. I looked and found equivalencies for all, meaning I am able to potentially transfer. However, how competitive is it to get into TAMU engineering as a sophomore transfer? GPA that is needed? I would like to know if this is worth it before deciding where I want to go to college, as I would like to attend texas a&m but would rather stay at my local college and get my requirements done there rather than blinn team.

@burnerphone415 OOS transfer for Engineering I believe is really competitive. Look at other transfer threads on here to see if you can get a glimpse of it. You have to remember that you will come after ALL ETAM participants (so any academies, galveston and main campus).

Called transfer admissions phone, they told me get above a 3.5 gpa and I should have a solid shot… Unless that is not true.

Any engineering student at tamu or galveston/mcallen or academies get their first choice major with ETAM. So I would say a 3.5 is not solid for a transfer to get the type of engineering you want unless it’s IDIS which I have been told is not too competitive. A 3.5 in other non impacted majors is a solid shot for sure.
