TAMU Transfer Fall 2019

What majors are y’all applying for if you don’t mind me asking

@matthewg2477 My major is Entomology. The Department of Entomology is part of the College of Ag but the department makes the decision. What is your major?

University studies - leadership it’s also apart of ag

@Chrispm15 I applied and after the audit had a 3.37. Transferring from out of state and they didn’t accept 3 classes which I had As in. I’m in the military and will be an Officer before transferring so I would say extra-curriculars are solid as well. I got picked up for my second major but was also told that it was because I had more classes applicable to that class plan than the other, and if it had all been equal, they would have accepted me. You should be fine.

That being said, after I received my audit it took 12 days for Howdy and AIS to update since that will likely be your next question…

Also, my apologies, I see where you asked me that almost a week ago…

Has anyone applying to the college of Architecture herd back or gotten 6 tabs? If so could you share your hours, gpa and dates. I would like to see where I stand.

What would be the best option when choosing tuition rate for a transfer student? The Calculated Rate Code, Current Year Rate Code or Variable Rate Code?

Any news on Engineering?

If I end up having to drop a class this semester, will a&m revoke my admissions? The class Im worried about isn’t within the recommended classes for admission.

Just now getting into this thread
I am applying for Human Resource Development
I have all required course work for this major already completed
I have 41 hours
My GPA is 3.12
I am an Eagle Scout I wrote both essays (A&C)
I applied 1/24 got my audit on 2/13

Worried if I don’t find out this week I might have to wait till after spring break

Has anyone heard from department of education specifically HRD?

@jrriggs19 Hey! I have similar stats as you and I have not heard anything from HRD other than there are people who got declined. I did however hear that some majors in education got either accepted, declined, or deferred. Hope that helps, but yes, I agree. I had to apply to my back up school because they were taking forever.

Just wanted to post on here for reference for people transferring into GIST after this year, since there’s hardly any info to be found anywhere.

Stats:
4.0 GPA
26 Graded Transferrable hours
Applied 1/7/19
Audit on 2/6/19
Got deferred for spring grades 2/27/19
I’m just posting this for anyone who is trying to find information for transferring into this program, so that they have a general idea of what’s going on.

Has anyone noticed some changes in their financial aid portal? The financial aid office is asking for a bunch of info like a student asset sheet, I called and explained my situation to the financial aid office and filled it out as they told me to. Previous years tax forms (2016 and 2017, they already have 2018) sent them in the mail they haven’t arrived yet, I did the IRS data retrieval tool on my FAFSA, and now they say I’m eligible for a $10,000 scholarship for study abroad, gives me a link to pick a study abroad program, and allows me to apply for it. Could all these changes mean a good thing? This seems like a lot of work for a student who hasn’t been accepted yet… Maybe I’m just grasping at straws here… Just wondering if anyone else has these changes happening in their financial aid portal.

@wonderlust1 I haven’t filled out my FAFSA, so I cannot corroborate anything. Might be something, but I would guess it’s prolly nothing.

Has anyone gotten a decision since 2/27? It’s been a week since the last wave of admissions. I got my audit 2/14 and haven’t heard back!

@gigemsis same I got my audit on 2/13 hopefully we can get a decision before spring break, but I’m also not counting on it.
