Has anyone ever heard of people getting accepted with the bare minimum of a 2.54 gpa? Major is human resource development. I have all required and almost all of the reccomended courses completed. Also wrote two strong essays, tons of community service from hs and 2 letters of reccomendation. Thanks!
I really hope it’s soon, AIS changed for me this morning and said my app is in review again, we’re in the endgame now!!
@wats70 I don’t know much on the dept except that it’s competitive and a great dept/major/college. So once you’re in, you’ll be in good hands. Just talked to two graduates from there. One going to chiropractic school in aug and the other one heading to med school. So if professional school is where you’re heading after tamu, you’ll be prepared.
Looking forward to hearing everyone has a decision. Try not to stress about the wait. Once you’re in review and audit complete, then a decision will roll out soon! Stay positive peeps.
I got deffered for spring grades, made a 4.0 last semester at blinn and this semester my accumalative GPA is now 3.6. I took 28 hours after highschool and now have a total of 46 with dual credit. My major is Allied Health. What do yall think my chances are? I have taken all required course work except for Chem.
@camrynashley is chem required for transfer? If so, they are very strict and will not accept students that haven’t taken all required courses. If just recommended class, then it’s okay but you’ll be up against students with same strong gpa and everything done.
@camrynashley I checked the transfer requirements for an Allied Health major and it looks like general chemistry 1 is required for your application to be considered by the major. I would recommend taking the chemistry course over the summer or this Fall semester and then apply again to transfer in Spring of 2020.
@AggieMomhelp @mckenna41499 theres recommended four sciences in order to transfer and you have to take two of the four, i took 3 of the four. I signed up for the wrong chem class last semester and it was too late for me to add/drop. I decided to still take the class because I wanted a refresher on chem before taking it.
@AggieMomhelp Thanks. I have met with the same Academic Advisor in the Nutrition Department twice, and he was such a great help in advising what core classes to take, when to take what, and advising me to complete the second semester of Bio this summer, so I didn’t have Bio and Organic Chem in the fall. I made certain to mention our meetings in the essay. (Academic advisor actually recommended that to me, or I may not have known to even do that.) Anyway, I hope to start in the fall, but if it doesn’t happen then I can just reapply for Spring. I have all the required courses, 33 hours (36 after the May mini is over.) and a 3.31 GPA because Chemistry is hard and that brought my GPA down a bit. 2.5 is min. I also did not choose a second major, but honestly Nutrition and a minor in Genetics is the only thing I really want.
Sorry for the long post!!
@camrynashley So it looks like 2 out of the 4 must be completed with a B or better, but all 4 must still be taken. They are not part of the recommended courses, they are required for transfer. The page I got the information off of is https://admissions.tamu.edu/admissions-staging/media/Main/pdfs-transfer2018/ED18-Health.pdf and you will be ale to see all of the other required courses for transferring into the major as well. The portion about all 4 of the science classes being required is the first bullet point under the table of required courses.
@mckenna41499 That’s how I read it as well. In fact the 2 out of 4 (@camrynashley is that you must have 2 Bs in those 4 sciences and Cs in the others. BUT, all 4 are required as mckenna said… You’ll need to do it this summer so you can apply for Spring. They won’t allow it for spring transfer if you take it in the fall.
Transcript was just processed along with a new transfer audit from Spring Grades. Assuming the waiting game will take at least 2-3 weeks.
3.32 GPA
38 Hours
Major: Communication
@Cb15qbbap I have a quick question. My AIS still has a red X next to “final transcript from Blinn College” in the Additional documents required if admitted section… they have a green check by the transcript that only shows 22 hours (which is why I was deferred). Did that happen to you until they changed it at the time of transfer audit? I did contact them and they told me they received the transcript with my spring grades, but it still has the ugly red X. I am going to contact them on Thursday afternoon if it hasn’t updated yet. Just wondering if that happened to you as well. Good luck!!
@astros41 do you still have the red x?
@wats70 Mine does not still have the red “X”, but I had issues with that as well. My transcript was sent in May 11th, was received by the office of admissions May 13th, but my AIS did not update until May 17th, my transfer audit was then updated May 19th. I think it takes them awhile to process all the transcripts and create the audits for so many applications coming in. You should be fine as long as you confirmed that they received it, they just haven’t processed it yet.
@Cb15qbbap Exact same dates and results for me, now we just have to wait on a decision, best of luck!
Called today and they said they’re behind on processing transcripts because of the influx with everyone just finishing school. Mine was received on the 16th and she said I’d see a check by the end of the week or beginning of next.
My Transcript was received on May 13th and I still have a red x next to final transcript. Anybody else in the same position?
I do not still have the red “X”, it changed also
@CoscAggie Yes, my transcript was also received on the 13th and still has an ugly red X.
My ais just updated that my transcript was received on the 17th but I still have the red x
