That’s great @astros41 If you hit all the marks for transfer and competitive GPA, I would think you would hear sooner than later because they need to get you set up for NSC. What I don’t know is how much of your application was reviewed BEFORE deferred. I need to find that out. LIke did they say… “Okay, if they make the grades and fulfill requirements, they are in” or was it… “they haven’t met requirements so I’m not even go to look at the app until app is totally complete”. I’ll see if there’s anyone I can ask on this process for transfers. If I get the answer, I will let you know. AND please let us know when you hear back!
thank you so much @AggieMomhelp . thats something I have been wondering myself. my transcript from Blinn sent, but in the AIS I still have a red “x”. just waiting to hear back as soon as possible
update: I called admissions and they said its normal for the “x” to be there, but they have received my transcript. she also told me I should be in review ny Friday. hoping for the best!! @AggieMomhelp
So… I got a B in a math course that does not even transfer to A&M and my GPA will end up being a 3.9. Do you think that impacts my chances into getting accepted to the College of Ed? I got deferred and I need to submit my spring grades soon
One B is not going to hurt you my friend. What math was it and why did you take it if not a transfer class? Can it come over as elective? 3.9 is great and you should be proud. Submit those grades ASAP!
Alright after spring grades my gpa is now at a 3.63 what do you think my chances are for transferring as a chemistry major?
@AggieMomhelp I sent my spring grades in and have a 3.0 on 33hrs, trying to transfer into RPTS would you happen to have any idea what my chances are, thank you!?
My daughter transferred into RPTS for youth development. She had 36 hours I think with a 3.4 and got in. Have you met with RPTS advisor? That was one thing they suggested doing and then noting that in essay. They wanted passion for the field, whichever you choose. If you did that, then I think you have a great chance. Best of luck and please keep us posted!!!
FYI since acceptance, my daughter graduated a semester early and is now working in special education while pursuing masters in sped. RPTS Is a great major and the Ag college is amazing.
@AggieMomhelp I met with a RPTS advisor in December and only had 18hrs and a 2.67 then, took Math 1324 during winter term and Math 1325 during spring along with three other classes. I wrote two essays one was the SOP and the other was writing about my passion (essay for the department). I didn’t specifically write in my essay that I met with them but I did explain my career change and passion for wanting to transfer into RPTS.
@JVAl14 I think the upward trend on your grades will speak to them. My daughter loved her RPTS advisors and the college of Ag is one of the best in terms of treating students like people. What certificate are you wanting to follow in rpts?
@AggieMomhelp I am very nervous, and if admitted either Youth Development or Parks & Conservation!
anyone who was deferred for spring grades, how is it going/ what are you hearing back or seeing through AIS? they said they got my transfer but they haven’t processed it yet. just wanted to know if this is the same for others
I was deferred for spring grades and I am still waiting for a new transfer audit. Transcript from Blinn was received on Monday. I am thinking it may take another week to see a transfer audit.
@AggieMomhelp Hi, you have been so helpful to other future Aggies on here, I was wondering if you knew much about the Department of Nutrition and Food Science (Ag and Life Science College)? That is where I applied.
@wats70 @astros41
My transcript got to them on 5/8 and they didn’t process it until 5/10. And my audit wasn’t finished until 5/15, and when it popped up my account went back to “complete and in review”. So it took about a week and a half for everything to show up right. Still waiting for a decision here.
@bj92912 They have my spring transcript from Blinn (it says received in documents), but there is still an X by the “final grades from Blinn college” even though they are the same thing. So I keep worrying and waiting for that to change to a green check… I just want to be sure they have everything prior to the June 1 deadline.
@wats70
It took mine a little bit to change to the green check mark. But it will eventually, I think mine didn’t change until the new audit popped up in AIS.
But if they don’t have it processed for some reason by June 1st, it’s on them because your document is there on time.
I actually emailed them and they got back to me in less than an hour. She told me it was still in the processing phase and it will turn green soon. Whew.
@bj92912 I am wondering if a decision will be after June 1 since that is the deadline for everyone. Or maybe that’s irrelevant, and it’s just on a rolling basis based on when the college has time to review.
@wats70 I’m not sure when they’re gonna start admitting. I would think it’s soon because there’s the first transfer New Student Conference next week (23 and 24 I think).
I talked to a guy in my major (GIST) who was deferred last year and they got accepted about 2 or 3 weeks later. It’s just a waiting game now.
