TAMU Transfer Fall 2019

@letsgetit! I think you should convince yourself that if you really want to study your second choice major. If you genuinely wanna study that major, I don’t think how they will see your application will matter.

Has anyone applied and heard back from Transfer scholarships for Fall 19 yet?

@letsgetit! When my daughter applied and we met with department advisor of her first choice, she encouraged her to give a nod to her 2nd choice major just in case she was rejected from first choice. For the life of me I cannot remember what she put down as that 2nd choice but it was somewhat related to the first. If your 1st and 2nd are far apart in interest, then you should definitely give insight into your passion on why you are choosing them.

I am surprised you were denied with that GPA and a good amount of hours. Why are you waiting til Spring 2020? Why not Fall?

@AggieMomhelp oh my mistake. I did applied for Fall and got denied. Do you think it is a bad choice to write my second major choice as my first major choice on Spring 2020 because of my previous attempt to write them as a second major choice? They said they will file my record for one year and they will know that I applied in the past so I am kind of concerned.

@letsgetit! I just went to your old threads to find out major. Engineering is going to be nearly impossible at this point to transfer into with already being denied. You are correct in your thinking. TAMU is not the only school that has a great engineering program. Do you have another University that interests you? If not, do you have another major outside of engineering that interests you? Construction science, architecture, etc?

@AggieMomhelp Do you mean that it will be hard for me to get in engineering programs because I was already denied?

Honestly, both. It’s just so competitive right now and with so many academies, they will have first shot at entry into a major over transfer students.

I just got my housing timeslot and it’s about in the middle of picking times. How fast does White Creek fill up? I really want to get in there :frowning:

@iwannabeanaggie8 I think you should be okay for White Creek.

@iwannabeanaggie8 My son had a late time slot last year and he and 3 of his friends were able to get a 4X2 with no problem. It’s easier if you aren’t tied to anyone but, they were tied (1 and 1) and it was no issue. LOVE White Creek. Great community center right next to it. Kind of like a mini MSC.

Awesome! Thank you guys!! Really hoping I get in or idk what I will do

I got deferred for spring grades because I didn’t have enough hours!! Just sent my spring grades over to A&M

Hours taken: 32
GPA: 4.0

Has anyone gotten an email pertaining to the terry transfer scholarship?

@annabananalm I did, got emailed a link to the application. Sent it in a few days ago!

Has anyone been accepted for civil engineering? My friend has not heard back yet and was wondering

I got deferred and I sent in my spring transcript and it was just received, does anyone know how long it will take for a decision to be made?

@rosierose29
They got mine May 8, it didn’t show up until that Friday. And I haven’t heard anything yet. I’m so nervous?

@AggieMomhelp Do you think it will be fine if I apply for other engineering majors rather than the other two majors I applied in the past?

@“letsgetit!” Any engineering is going to be difficult with all the freshman applying for majors. Don’t change your major just to go to tamu. Tamu is 4 years. Your major, especially engineering, helps shape your future. I’m not saying don’t try, I’m just saying try for a different major only if it interest you.

Hey, @AggieMomhelp You are so awesome for all you do! I wanted to ask, if I had to send in my spring grades, when do you think I would hear back about my decision for fall
