I want to ask, say in one of my required courseworks (Calculus 2), I need to get a B but got a C on it. Does it mean that I’m instantly not qualified for my transfer or how does it work? My major is Computer Science
@CMRS21 The only thing I know is some people who even got all As for the required courses got rejected for CS major.
@CMRS21 have you already been accepted for transfer? Or was it deferred for grades?
So is it advised to stay on campus for the first year or apartment ?
@krisp1 Depends on your personality. For a freshman, though, yes. For transfers… if you have friends already here and plan on getting involved, then not necessary to live on campus to be connected. Lots of off campus student housing do a great job of having socials as well to build the community. If you are an introvert, then yes, live on campus and find your people!!!
Do you have a rough idea how much would be cheap off campus one bedroom apartment ? @AggieMomhelp
if I have to resend my spring grades in because I didn’t have enough hours, however my stats for transfer at the end of the week should be 3.3 GPA (ish) and 38 hours, im trying to transfer into communications through the college of Liberal Arts for Fall Semester of 2019, how are my chances?
I was originally transferring as a Computer Engineer but got denied, guessing because of the required course grade requirements for them and a strong transfer class this year.
Anyone transfer to EE major for this Fall ?
@KrisP1 one bedrooms are most expensive. The further away from campus and less amenities of the complex will help bring down the cost. But close to campus 1 bed 1 bath can be close to $1k… Even 2 bedrooms and 2 baths are $700 plus (that’s for each person).
Away from campus and older apartments may be your best bet if wanting to cut down on cost. They will still be on bus route though!
I am currently finishing up my spring semester at Blinn College. I have applied to transfer into the Communications program at Texas A&M, I was deferred to my spring grades due to the fact I only had 22 hours when I applied. Once I resend my grades I will have a 3.32 GPA with 38 hours of coursework. How are my chances at being admitted?

@Cb15qbbap Did you complete the required english and the recommended courses? https://admissions.tamu.edu/admissions-staging/media/Main/pdfs-transfer2018/LA18-Communication.pdf
With a 3.0 being required, you obviously look competitive. If you also show good faith in completing the recommended courses (foreign language) AND wrote a great essay showing passion for the major and how you will be an asset to the Aggie family, then yes, I believe your GPA is good enough. If you have any ECs at Blinn, that would give you a nod as well. What was your 2nd choice major?
I have all required and recommended coursework done other than my Spanish 2 credit. And my 2nd choice major is Construction Science
@Cb15qbbap you should be competitive. I will say your 2nd choice is so different than 1st. And 1st choice is less competitive.
@AggieMomhelp I thought living was cheap in college station, clearly I was wrong ?.
@KrisP1 I know. I’m sorry. But if you research you can find housing that is less expensive and still decent. It just may not be all student type housing. When I was in school (dang this makes me sound ancient) we didn’t have “student apartments” per se. we just had apartments and the amenities were a pool. We turned out fine. You can find affordable housing on the bus route.
Hi, I applied for tamu this spring. I took 34 hours in a community college with all required courses done before this spring. My gpa was 3.9 and got rejected by both majors. I didn’t ask the first major choice department for my deny but did ask for the second major choice department. They said that I was strongly interested only in first major but not in their department. They didn’t specifically said about my my essay, but I assume that the essay was a big part because I only wrote about first major. Do you think it is not a good idea to write my second major choice as my first major choice for spring 2020 because they know that I was denied because of my previous attempt to write them as second major choice?
