My son got his 7 tabs a couple of weeks ago in CoSci. His good friend is waiting to hear from Computer Science. Has anyone heard from that department?
does anyone know when the last day that I should expect to hear back from a&m for a decision?
I have heard decisions can come all through till middle/end of July. You could always call and ask.
DD was offered PSA so chose straight Blinn. She has 15 dual credit hours. Trying to decide if she should take 13 hours in the Fall and 15 in the Spring and try for a normal transfer or 16 hours in the Fall and try PTA. 16 hours seems like a lot for a Freshman. Any advice is appreciated.
@CrazyMom23 not yet. But I feel like most engineering majors will get a decision by the end of the month.
@txmomuv2 i replied on the other thread. But what is her current DC GPA and intended major?
@AggieMomhelp do you know much about transferring as a comp sci major?
@victxxr I am not well versed in anything engineering. I just know it and Business are extremely hard to transfer into or change majors into once on campus.
My financial aid portal has not updated and it still says that i need to get admitted. ( I was accepted through PSA last week)
Anybody have this problem?
I’m having that issue as well even though I was admitted on the 9th. They said it should take at least 5-7 days to process and look at everything but if it hasn’t then to call.
@txmomuv2 What is her major? My daughter is doing straight Blinn and we already met with an Advisor who said she shouldn’t have any problem transferring in a year (she is a History major) Check PTA and see if there are classes that she would have to take that she may not need. My DD is doing 16 credits 1st semester (1 is PE and 3 is a study class that they recommend) and most likely 12 in Spring. She has 22 Dual Credits already and more if she decides to use her AP credits later.
Howdy!! I’m a biochemistry student transferring from community college with 37 college hours (after two semesters and a summer) with 15 AP hours. I have a 3.78, have been on the Dean’s list both semesters of college. I woke up to the “seven tabs” today!!! Does that mean I got admitted most likely?
@BICH2022 congrats! Yes you have been admitted and will get official word sooooon!!! Whoop and welcome to Aggieland.
If you are in College of Ag and Life Sciences, check your Howdy this morning. My daughter talked to her advisor earlier in the week and she said they had an internal deadline of Thursday 06/20. The elusive 7 tabs are in Howdy for my DD.
Now we wait for AIS to update and we can start the process to get registered for NSC. I hope there are still slots available for the July NSC. There are only 2 NSCs left for transfer to College of Ag and Life Science, July 11-12 and Aug 14-15.
@AggieMomhelp Thank you so much!!! Do you know about how long it takes to get the official acceptance on AIS/Howdy?
@WWOODS1 Congrats!!! I got mine today also!!!
@BICH202 with it just being transfers, your AIS could update as early as today!
@txmomuv2 We were very happy with PTA. My son took 16 hours the first semester and 14 the second. It was tough and he had to get special permission to take Calculus and Physics the same semester. The system was set up for failure as A&M wanted both classes to be completed BUT Blinn won’t allow you to take both…he was nearly derailed but we caught it and he took a test and got permission to take both in Spring 2019. PTA is not an easy path but it does guarantee admission if EVERYTHING rule is followed and there was comfort in that.
Good Luck and Gig 'Em!!
Okay so finally yesterday, DD gets in according to Howdy. AIS updates later in the day, and I get home from work and we go to get everything set up. Now there are no NSC dates available at this time, but we have to accept by July 1 or they will treat it as we are turning down admission.
My DD’s friends are seeing the same thing and they also just got in yesterday. I don’t mean to be cynical or untrusting, but is this how they can “guarantee” admission to PSA students and still leave themselves an out?
@WWOODS1 Call on Monday. They will have to make at least 1 NSC available. They will not prevent your student from attending if they are on the PSA program. There are also students changing NSC dates or deciding not to attend.
